Do you know anyone who has ever had a trial at a football club?

I know Oliver Norwood (Reading) from the year above me in school. Also know James Anderson (England cricketer) for the same reason, and lived next door to his granddad.

Also been on a couple of nights out with Marco Matias and Lucas Joao of Sheff Wed, friend of a friend sort of thing.

I was in the year above Lionel Messi,went out with Johan Cruyff's sister,lived round the corner from Franz Beckenbauer's cousin,used the same Co-op as Zinedine Zidane's auntie and used to play Top Trumps with the Farsley Celtic outside left.

A mate of mine from primary school almost got in to the celtic youth set up around the age of 14, but about a week or so before he was supposed to move up there he broke his hip playing rugby and never really played again.

Aaron Racine was a couple years or so below me at school, he was in the Saints academy but think he enjoyed a night out a bit too much and is now getting sent off for fleetwood. And I play 5-a-side with Asif Kapadia altho *technically* he's not a footballer. p sure most schools had a few kids who had trials with some pro club though
