Rovers released a statement today saying a fan had been banned for life, rumours circulating it's to do with a post regarding the Valley Parade tragedy, absolute scum of the earth, hope he gets what's coming to him.
Good to hear if that's what he has been banned for. A few minutes with the likes of myself who managed to escape that day would 'educate' him that's for sure.

I also read that a Sheffield Wednesday fan that mocked the Hillsborough disaster after a West Brom fan lost his life at the weekend has been banned from Hillsborough. (not sure how long for) This guy was a 55 year old man so surely should know better?

I really can't get my head around people that even contemplate posting utter evil shit like this on socials. Mind boggling.

He was also sacked from his job and has been suspended by his golf club.

I mean thinking shit like this is mad, but to actually then post it for the World to see how much of a dick you are takes some doing.
You do wonder what people are thinking when they post this kind of stuff, absolutely horrific.

Yes I'm a Chester fan and when we played Wrexham a few years ago the club unwisely decided to have a 2 minute silence for a Wrexham pit disaster which happened almost a century ago. It was embarrassing for the genuine fans.

I see this all the time on social media. It used to boil my blood - not anymore!

Typically, it’s a young lad who has just recently been allowed to attend matches without parental supervision.

"We are also working closely with South Yorkshire Police regarding the post.
“Doncaster Rovers vehemently condemn the behaviour of the individual responsible and reiterate our zero tolerance stance towards online hate speech.”
The Free Press understands the same supporter has also made racist posts about Bradford previously and sparked outrage when dressing in a burqa for a game between the two sides several years ago.

Thick as soup this one, don't know him directly but if it who they are saying then he isn't a young lad, i'd say mid 30s maybe.

Social media is great in certain aspects but it also brings out the absolute dregs of society.

Thing is if these people are expressing these views 'out loud' what else are they doing or have done?

Correct. I doubt this scumbag would have the balls to say, whatever he said online, face to face to any Bradford City fan, especially to someone like me who was there that day and saw unimaginable scenes in front of us.

What's wrong with dressing in a burka. All part of gender identity.

They’ve had a few, i remember a lad taking the miss out of Bradley Lowery (think that was his name, the young sunderland fan)

Like others have said, whatever would make you think that’s something that’s acceptable.

You've got to be pretty stupid not to think there would be serious repercussions... but then if you think its acceptable to say or think some of the stuff that comes out I suppose that says all you need to know.

End of the day its a sport and we all love our teams, anyone certainly at this level and above is likely long suffering like us at Vale and we all want the same thing on a Saturday, enjoy the light hearted banter but some just take things too far.

And to think these people walk amongst us. Shit for brains, it has to be said. I'd imagine anyone who was involved in the matches at Hillsborough or Valley Parade can have 5 minutes with them to show the impact that these tragedies have on people in their everyday lives.

Going off on a tangent here, more one for the bradford fans - is there any particular reason there isn’t a minute silence for those who sadly passed at VP, or was it more a decision that you’d remember them in a different way etc?

I remember a good 30 years ago at school they showed us the documentary as part of education , it was dreadful and says a lot I can remember it . Can't and don't want to imagine what it was like being there but have empathy for anyone that was ; I don't understand how these people don't and just mock a weird world now

I've always assumed - probably wrongly - that it's because the fire was 11th May so they have very few games that are near to the anniversary as the season usually ends in the last weekend of April or first weekend in May (this season is 3rd May).

I've only shed a tear at a football ground once and that was when I went to Valley Parade in the 06/07 season. Seeing father/son and others on the memorial is a heartbreaking thing to read.

There’s a minutes silence before the final home game of every season and an annual memorial service in the city centre on the date of the fire.
