Lincoln far too overpriced IMO

Blackpool could be a good shout for the play offs, they had a good season last season & with new owners who knows? (Not sure how good their summer transfer window is going mind)

Yeah at first glance think Lincoln and Coventry look overpriced, maybe even Doncaster at the minute.

Coventry looked decent back end of last season but playing in a near empty St Andrews won’t help them.

Sunderland 6/4 is a shit price as well. Would need to be anything above 3s for me to consider it.

MK a decent price as an outside bet I think.

Definitely us, no manager and a minimum of 7 players short at present

Blackpool seem reasonably good value for an outside bet at 11/1. I'd even say Posh at 3/1 isn't bad considering the signings they've made. They're always in the mix throughout the season.

I think Burton are decent value at 13/2, would expect a play-off place for them this time around if they keep hold of Boyce.

I think MK are way over-priced, and Wimbledon a touch as well. Donny and Lincoln are a bit of a enigma really - don't honestly expect either to be troubling the play-offs this time around, but then again this time last year a lot of us didn't expect much from Donny and Luton (apart from the Luton fans, obvs) so who knows!

Can’t believe people are saying Lincoln are overpriced at 6/1.
They have just come up.
Would touch them with barge pole at that price!
Agree that Burton look reasonable value.
All in all though the bookies are giving nothing away with those odds

And seemingly haven't signed anyone?

Haven't signed anyone or released anyone. We have 15 players, one of which might have to retire through injury and didn't play last season anyway, and of those other 14, I suspect 4 or 5 will be sold. And we're back in for pre-season training back end of this week.

We haven't lost any key players yet, though, so the remaining group are the ones who played large parts in us comfortably winning L2 last season. We'll have moves lined up, no doubt about that, but the odds are firmly off the back of the Lincoln 'story' of the last 3 seasons (still!). And we've tend to overachieve to varying degrees over the last 3 seasons under the Cowleys.

I thought we'd be pitched in at around middle in that table, though. Somewhere around Coventry, Fleetwood, Blackpool odds.

Posh or Rotherham at 3's looks the bet for me. Think 6/1 on us is a little skinny to be honest. I don't see us going up this season, maybe next if we keep hold of the brothers (sisters as some of you will call them as the season goes on!!). I expect us to be somewhere between 7th and 11th, an outside chance of the play-offs.
Best value I see it League 2. I reckon 6/1 on our Fishy friends up the road to finish top 7 is a decent shout. I certainly don't think they should be one of the favourites to go down.

Would also argue that we are far too short at 2/1.

I don't see wholesale changes for us this window and we are a team who doesn't know how to win games in recent times. First 6 or 7 games will be huge for us- if we go on an early run I expect we could feature in the auto race but failing that I think playoffs is more realistic.

I backed Rotherham at 10/1 before the play off final in the wisdom that the last 2 seasons I think of the 6 teams that were relegated 4 made it back at the 1st attempt to the Championship , the 10/1 was to finish either top 2 or win play offs.

Gassy can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he meant that the Lincoln price is too short, rather than too big?

No one gave Luton a cat in hell's chance at the start of last season & look what happened.
Lincoln may have not had many in or out of the door meaning added stability in the squad , their best bit of business could be keeping hold of the Cowley's , can't imagine some of Sunderland's players still on Premier wages are going to cope with the sirens at long throw ins etc , personally , I'm pleased we have 1 of our local derbies back ( hope I can get a ticket on New Year's Day for the away game ) & see them as a major threat & THE DARK HORSES in the division.

Just to clarify I am not saying that Lincoln will struggle.
You give them the tag of ‘dark horses’.
The bookies do not seem to agree as dark horses are normally bigger than 6/1 sixth favourite of 24.
As I say, in my humble opinion, way too short.

I think that's partly why we're as short as we are.

We've won about 55%-60% of our games in the last three seasons.

It's not even something we use - we don't have anyone with a long throw.

Shared a fair few players down the years! Starting with staff such as Alexander, Simpson and Oakes when McAnthony first took over.

My last visit to LR was when we won 2-1 with Ryan Amoo scoring two. Just before Xmas (2006?).

I'm not a betting man at all so I don't know which way round it's supposed to be

I'm trying to say that I don't think Lincoln will be going for promotion, never mind 6th favourite for promotion

Too short - no value in the odds (Burnley 2/1 to win the PL).
Too long - value in the odds (Man City 20/1 to win the PL).

So when I said overpriced, it came across as too long?

Cheers for clarifying, I'm going to screen shot this on my phone in case I ever need to remind myself

Yeah, I stupidly copied Gassy’s post.

I’ve been gambling long enough to have no excuse!

Rotherham look best value to me, think they'll bounce straight back.

Bolton might be good value for playoffs if they get bought by someone wealthy who actually has money (Sultan of Brunei, Steve Jobs, etc) rather than the usual bullshitting chancer.

Not sure why Wimbledon are slightly shorter odds and Wycombe slightly longer than the rest of us 14-1 also-rans.

We've lost all our 4 wingers, vaulks and 2/3 players that we had on loan. Think we'll be in and around playoffs but fall short mainly because of the large turn around in players. Poutsmouth seem to be building a decent squad.

The last time we bounced back we weren't tipped to be even up there but this time we are tipped to do well so it's how we handle the expectation.

Would have Oxford more at 15/1 than 6/1

Your strong finish to last season has been duly noted by the bookies. Not unusual for teams to continue that form into a new season.

Bury have today been evicted from Carrington (owned by MCFC).

Blackburn also cancelled their friendly with us last week.

So you can now add training ground to things we no longer have along with players, staff, pre-season fixtures and manager.

A month until the season starts and the clubs future is still uncertain. Even the administrators didn’t want to touch us, so if we don’t find a buyer in 30 days the club is wound up.

Even if we do survive, we have no contracted players, and the outcome of the court case would be 3 days before the season is due to start.

We will be playing youth players all season if by some miracle we even make it to the first game of the season. Hardly any season tickets sold either as you can imagine.
