Yep , & National Service while you're at it , coz £500k a week for the likes of Sanchez is obscene , footballers even with some kind of cap will still be very well paid could actually encourage more premier & Championship teams dipping into League 1 & 2 and buying & sourcing new recruits rather than looking abroad also aiding teams like Bury , Bolton financially albeit some owners do dig their own graves unfortunately !

I think we'd all like a salary cap across English football as it would make it more competitive and break the boom/bust cycle that many teams experience.

The top professional leagues in American sport manage to do this, but they have the big advantage of controlling the whole market (outside of MLS anyway). If we brought it in unilaterally then the implications are obvious - most of the top players would up and move to other European leagues making the whole enterprise have to downsize (TV money etc). This would definitely instigate clubs departing to a European Super League as the owners of our biggest clubs would have to jump ship to save their investments.

All of this actually sounds pretty good to me, and I'd vote for it tomorrow but there are just too many vested interests in bed with the governing bodies for it to happen I reckon.

Our CVA today has been adjourned until July 18th as creditors weren’t convinced by the ‘rescue package’... so another 9 days of complete lock-down on the football side as we can’t do anything whilst this is in waiting.

The new CVA date is set 14 days before the final court hearing which will seal our fate. If the CVA is rejected by creditors on the 18th, then we have two-weeks to find a new buyer or the club is liquidated in court on the 31st July.

Debts could be as high as £16M if all creditor claims are considered valid. HMRC is one of the largest creditors, who today rejected the proposed CVA.

We also only have around 4 players. The season starts around 3 weeks from now.

Only from what I’ve seen off of Twitter so this point may not be true, but apparently we need a 750k bond to the EFL to start the season?

So all in all, we are goosed.

It’s come to light that Steve Dale never passed the EFL ‘fit and proper’ test, yet here he is, 7 months later, killing the club off.

He has never submitted anything to prove he has necessary funding to sustain the club. Essentially he’s just walked in and the EFL haven’t done anything.

Whilst not wholly to blame at all for our mess, some of the blood is undoubtedly on the hands of the EFL. They could have used their power to remove Dale and appoint an administrator months ago yet haven’t.

Staff have been told to walk away as the club is insolvent and the debt is unrecoverable.

The end is now.

This. The EFL has become as corrupt and dysfunctional as the EPL or UEFA under Harvey. They are more concerned with being the lapdogs of the Premier League and becoming 'EPL 2' than doing anything for lower division clubs.
