I did notice Langstaff trying to steal the goal away from the big man right on the line, shameless stat-padding.

He's been shamelessly doing that for three seasons now, and exceedingly well. The big man is definitely looking promising, raw diamond at present.

Was poor yesterday, he wasn't alone.

Sorry even worse than I thought. He has to win or be sacked surely.
What’s the point in sacking him now? Might just as well wait until the season is finished and start afresh then.

I think we need to be proactive and not just accept what we're doing is good enough, plough on into the summer and hope it all just works out. At Notts things never just work out, it turns to shit without the owners, chief exec and manager / head coach all working well together.
We've only just come up from the dead pool, it took a lot of doing and more form like we've had since Christmas and we'll be back down next season. Nobody at Notts wants to do a Hartlepool or Grimsby and go there twice.
So, if it's not working and not going to work we shouldn't just waste time, we need to get someone in who can evaluate what we need by watching them for a few games, hopefully uplift the club and reset the mood so the squad come back for pre season with some optimism.

That’s all true, but the flip side is there may be a bigger pool of managers to choose from come the summer.

Ignoring our match and looking at the other teams around the top 7 here are my expectations tomorrow.
Stockport, whilst there's an outside chance of a draw they should win by at least a couple of goals.
Mansfield, it's the time of the season where they see the finishing line and shit themselves, but if they can't beat a badly out of form Accrington they won't deserve an automatic place.
Wrexham, potentially an upset as Doncaster have found some form and you never know what Wrexham team will show up for an away midweek trip.
MK, can't see anything other than an easy win against Notts County.
Crewe surely can't fail to beat FGR who seam to have given up already?
The teams from Gillingham down all seam to have lost hope of catching the top 6 and none of them look like they fancy 7th place too much which is strange, maybe they don't fancy a potential play off trip to MK, Barrow or Mansfield?

Don't expect us at stockport to be pretty. We will try and grind our way to a nil nil as imo it's our only chance. We are fine at the back but have a lack of goals since Jan.

Tranmere were on the beach on Friday which helped us massively whereas Grimsby have plenty to play for. Think it'll be a routine victory for them.

Best way to play against us IMO.

I think it'll be a draw this one.

Wimbledon have done us a lot of favours against some of our rivals in the last month or two, think you've beat Mansfield, MK, Barrow, got a result at Crewe. Wouldn't surprise me if we have to wear the show on the other foot tomorrow.

Let's hope so, we're definitely due a win against you lot. We've looked crap the past two weeks but we're coming off the back of four matches against promotion hopefuls and if we show the sort of fight we did against MK and Gillingham then we should take home the points if you're as crap as you're all saying you are.

Think if we play like we did in the second half against Tranmere then we'll take something from the game. I want another Pointon masterclass.

Ronan curtis out for 3 game ban. We have not scored a single goal since Jan when he has not been on the pitch. Fill ya boots.

Even teams on the beach can’t fail to capitalise on our kind of defensive blunders though.

A few ex boys willing to prove a point for you though. Lewis and Johnson look they're back fit. James Ball another ex County boy.

Jimmy Ball! I'd forgotten about him.

Remember first seeing him play against us for Stalybridge, looked quality at the time - but of course that was back in the Div 6 North days.

I agree about us though at home to accrington, normally i see games and think they’ll be tough.

If we don’t win this they need to pack up and go home

Arrogit away for us. We're due a hope-providing win and we're better away than at home in recent months.

2-0 Gills.

We are woeful at home so I can't see us causing you too much trouble. I'd be delighted with a draw.

MK Dons could well be in 3rd after their game today.

MK Dons could well be in 3rd after their game today.

It’s one of those days so close to the end of the season that could decisively sway it one way or another.

Path A we beat an out of form accrington at home and MK draw, we’re 5 clear of them with a better GD and a game in hand with them only having 4 to play

Path B we draw or lose to accrington and MK win, they’re a point behind us or level (still with the game in hand and GD) but nervously looking over our shoulders and still to go there a week on saturday and we’d be in full panic mode.

MK and wrexham aren’t going to better our GD so it’s whether that effective point comes into play.

I can’t stress how important is we get a win today.

If they are then I can see it all coming to a head after the game with weeks of frustration being released by the fans.
Yes, thank god they've been keeping it to themselves the last few weeks.

Think it'll be really interesting anyway, a team playing a similar style but clearly much more successful with it. I would probably start with pressing high in mind and leave out McGoldrick and/or Crowley, whether there's any confidence in their replacements or Maynard thinks he has the cache to be making those kinds of decisions is another question.

Path C - you lose or draw and Barrow beat Morecambe. You're 3 or 4 points ahead of Barrow, but have played a game more (Barrow's game in hand is Bradford at Home). You also have a trips to MK a week on Saturday and to Barrow on the last day. You lose them both and end up finishing 5th....

Yes, so that's three points you've pretty much already got.

Must win today, given we need 4 wins out of 6 to have a decent chance of staying up.
