This is deflection from your own poor performance. We fully deserved to win the game and would have done so irrespective of the penalty.

Penalty didnt change the outcome apart from possibly knocking us for six and throwing the game plan out the window... we lost because we were far poorer than we've been in recent weeks.

The decision however was diabolical and you'd be seething with it the other way.

Firstly the contact starts outside the box.

Secondly at no point does Bowman go for the ball

Thirdly Bowman has Howkins by the head at one point.

Well done on your win but if thats a penalty we may as well give up and go full on basketball rules with zero contact. We'd be top of the league by now if those were given every time that happened on Pope.

I agree it was on the soft side but I've seen them given against us this season. Moral of the story, don't put your hands all over the attacker in the box.

the penalty was at most 50/50 and either player could have been penalised. Cracking second goal though, and sounded like we never got going. I can't complain over one result against a team who may make the play-offs, as our form recently has been excellent.
