Cook has come out and said our focus is completely on the league this season. He has support from the majority of fans but this game will be a welcome exception to that rule as it's another game to allow the players to gel.

Appleton's said we'll be using the squad for this one and effectively use it as another pre-season game, getting minutes into players who need them.

Monstma Bishop etc to get minutes, thought he'd do this tbf, makes sense.

We need the game, hopefully by the end of it our players might know each other’s names

Harrogate, Part Deux.

I suspect several changes may be made to the team.

Coleman could replace Lynch in goal, purely because he needs game time. Graham and Taylor to start at CB, maybe Keohane (if fit) or Done to come in at LB.

Broadbent (probably) and Brierley (possibly, he's only 17) to come in in midfield).

Cashman or Done likely to replace Odoh (picked up a knock) in attack.

Edit - oh yes, we got relegated..

Sorry - wrong thread (the L2 one has a very similar title.

Peterborough away. I’m really not all that bothered about this competition, we never do well in it anyway. They’ve signed some good young EFL talents this summer in Randall and Poku, and Broom won’t be able to play for us. 3-0 Peterborough.

A month or so ago the draw at Home to Swindon looked like as good as a bye into the next round. Now they've sorted themselves out and got a result on Saturday.

It will be a tougher game but fancy us to win it 2-1.

Away to Millwall. We don't really have a second team to put out so we'll probably be quite strong for that reason.

Jackett always went for it in cup competitions as a way of raising funds for players. We always paid for it at the end of the season by tiring the players out. Will be interesting to see the Cowleys approach this season.

Crawley away, going as only an hour away and 1st away game since March last year, can't see there being to many changes as we don't have a big enough squad yet

Hartlepool away. Not really bothered if we lose. Ideal game really as we looked abit lost on Saturday, games like this ideal for us get used to new partnerships. Can't see many of our fans travelling all the way up there for a league Cup game.

Evans has said that it will probably be mainly the kids at Crawley as we have such a small squad and have to manage them.

How many times did he say that last season? Yet he barely changed the team from the 14 players he used most

I had an odd 75p in my Skybet account so I’ve had a wee dabble

Not complaining, but where the heck did that come from. Winning 4-0. I might have expected a 4-0 loss, but a win even against a weaker Posh side! Woo hoo.

Some decent upsets across the board tonight. Can’t believe we knocked out Barnsley. Sounds like we were overawed a bit the first half hour but when we settled we played really well. Morecambe got a great result at Blackburn too. They don’t seem to be missing adams yet

Not bothered about this competition too much. But considering we were down to 10 men after 12 minutes, that with around 10 minutes added time, it’s a good result away from home and gets us our first win of the season.

Another decent result for us. We made 8 changes from Saturday and Charlton made 7 so not exactly a full-strength test but think this showed we have more strength in depth than last year.

Would have preferred to win the game to secure another fixture to bed the players in, but it is what it is.

10 changes were made so it's more minutes in legs, the majority of the kids coming in. Happy enough.

70% possession and 25 shots though should have probably seen us on the score sheet lol.

Despite wholesale changes, sounds like we were comfortable in our 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers last night.

Happy with that and ready for our traditional round 2 knockout.

Which of your squad played last night do you consider a kid?
