We were supposed to have a free Tuesday but Man Utd 'bullied' us and the EFL into playing tonight. Suffice to say Appleton isn't pleased and apparently will be letting Man Utd know as much when he meets the management team on Tuesday.

Anyhow, we're mixing the team up. Young GK Sam Long will make his competitive debut and it'll be a chance to get minutes in to Bramall, Montsma, Eyoma, N'Lundulu, Fiorini, Howarth, Jones etc.

We are going to freshen up the line up as much as our small squad will allow but basically Stoke are going to hammer us

Gutted I won't be in a packed 36,000 Elland Road crowd on Tuesday (bloody COVID) but should be a great atmosphere and opportunity for the lads, who'll be backed by a healthy away following.

Probably lose 3 or 4 nil but should be worth £150,000 to the coffers on gate receipts which could really improve the quality we could bring in to fill our gaping holes in the squad.

Can’t make it, gutted.

Seeing some of the condescending nonsense from Leeds fans on Twitter is keeping me entertained. Not seen it since Coventry fans in the JPT.

Fully expect us to get battered but then I fully expect us to get battered by Charlton and Shrewsbury, so just another match day.

We have Swansea away. I find out midday tomorrow whether we are going, waiting on the plans of a mate. We played the Swans in a pre-season at our gaff.

The comma’s in the wrong place, it will be closer to 3,600 than 36,000

Cant see anything other than a hammering at Leeds, even if as expected they make 11 changes, they will still play with the Bielsa intensity, which is something we don't cope well with. I'm just hoping we score to be honest, and I'm looking forward to what is sure to be a good atmosphere and is a decent money earner for us.

Has there ever been a less interesting League Cup 2nd Round tie than Gillingham v Cheltenham?

I doubt it mate.
I would fancy you lot to go through though.
We have about 14 senior pros at the moment.
Half of them are not match fit.
He will play as many of the kids as he can.

A new ground for me. Should be a good craik even if the squad is so threadbare.

Wouldn't be too fussed about not being at Elland Road, it's hands down the most uncomfortable stadium I've been to. Unless you're the height of one of the Borrowers, you've got no hope of being able to sit down without having the seat in front carving into your shins.

Been a fair few times in fairness (not for a good decade mind). It's just that novelty of a big club away in a packed stadium, you don't get to experience it that often.

Oldham away for us.
Not sure if there are going to be more protests or pitch invasions at Boundary Park like there was last Saturday.
We should win based on current form but I've watched us too long to be over confident about winning a match. In the season we got promoted we lost to Guiseley in the Cup!

Its a sell out.
Really? I’m shocked, the bigger clubs aren’t noted for taking this competition seriously, probably need to attend to have a chance of premier away game tickets. Fair play hope you win

Not really a typical situation though. Leeds fans were denied seeing their impressive, long-awaited return to the Prem last season, and so I'd imagine they are desperate to grab any opportunity this season.

Yes complete sell out. We sold 1600 away tickets, but they've even sold the tickets that we didn't in the lower tier. I think there is an incentive, that they have a chance of a ticket for there home game vs Liverpool if they've got a Crewe ticket. But still fair play to sell out 36000 for a 2nd round league Cup game.

8 changes for us tonight and currently beating Man Utd's U21's 3-0, Scully with all three.

Only three subs on the bench as well, so that tells you everything.

George Williams has put us 1-0 up away at Millwall who are playing a very defensive team which is very odd. Home fans not happy!

Held Leeds for 80 minutes, they basically played their first team. Took Bamford coming on to make the difference, penalties really looked to be insight. Proud of our efforts tonight. Incredible atmosphere in a packed stadium.

Well we lost on pens to Oldham after a 0-0 draw. Coleman is fuming in his interview with some of the player's fitness levels, going down with cramp etc after 70mins.
Interesting night of Oldham protests, with tennis balls, flares and fans invading the pitch!

Cam John went off injured early in the game and Galbraith tweaked his groin in the warm up to add to our injury woes so I’m mighty impressed we only lost 2-0

Beat 4-1 by Swansea, but they scored the last 3 when we’d made a few subs. Buzzing for Rhys Shirley, young lad who came on and scored.

Very proud. 10 mind away from a penalty shoot out vs almost Leeds first team. Fantastic atmosphere aswell. Our fans were class. Its all I got told walking back to my car from Leeds fans, best fans they've had in years.

Hmm, not got to the third round since 2007. This run continues to next year.

I thought the Liberty stadium was well designed inside, but getting out of the car park was a nightmare because there was no space for pedestrians, so cars and pedestrians tried to share the same space.

Lowe made four changes and it was good to see the youngsters get starting time, and George Cooper had twenty minutes after a year out. 18 year old Rhys Shirley scored a great poachers goal at the back post. I suspect Lowe wants to send him out on loan, but at the moment we don’t have enough fit strikers to do so.
