It was the players picked to play the diamond that was the issue.

The main problem at Wembley was that both full backs thought they were playing wing backs and got stranded too far up the pitch.

Although our ticketing system isn’t the best so it’s hard to 100% tell looks as though we’ve sold around 1500 and they only went on sale to ST holders at 6pm last night so should sell out.

I’m still unsure if I’ll go, think it’s potentially being broadcast internationally which would be ideal.

Looks like we are about to sell out tonight so should be a good atmosphere, just hope Crosby doesn’t play the reserves again!

Don’t want to be playing reserves against this side currently.

Got away with it against Crewe and Sutton but away from home would be stupid. Play the stiffs against Burton in the FA cup and try and get to the QF. We’ve some great kids coming through but the form your in it’s a big ask if we do that.

Mind you the way we are playing we will football you to death, be all pretty, miss a hatful (largely down to starting no strikers) and concede a couple of sloppy crosses we don’t deal with.

Looking at the ticketing website, seems like folk are giving this one a miss so far.

Got Walsall at Saturday, Vale Tuesday then Wrexham in the FA Cup Saturday all at home so not surprising considering it’s a Tuesday and the Carobao.

Given the low crowd in the last round it's not a surprise either.

I'd imagine more would be up for the Wrexham one, especially with it being an evening game.

It always adds a little bit of spice, playing under floodlights.

Hoping Vale take Mansfield all the way, tire Mansfield out, injure a couple of players, or even 4, then play a depleted team vs us in the FA cup.

We will make them run around a lot... from side to side as we spend 90 minutes switching between the back 6, then across the midfield before it fizzles out and we start again... Uche Ikpeazu now he's signed might bulldose a few defenders before blazing over or laying it wide for it to fizzle out again! We don't score goals (5 games now) play some sexy football and have the odd mistake in us.

At the moment we are excellent between both boxes, average defending our own and have zero in the other box... if we can get to penalties we have a penalty specialist in goal which is probably our best hope (all be it with our finishing at the moment I wouldn't trust us to score ours!)

Should be interesting at least.

Why has Stevenage and Port Vale been ‘yellowed’ in but not Gillingham and where is Walsall

Cameras going in ground today, it’s on internationally if you got a Firestick or VPN. ESPN is one of em.

Ah great, will watch that I think. Especially with us turning up to Mansfield on the weekend, need to see what's what. I'll be watching it on the tele on Saturday though, save some cash after an expensive October.

Going to be a big ask for us tonight, we've got Chislett suspended (2 cards in 3 rounds seems harsh) plus Wilson, Grant, Iacovitti, Clark, Balmer, Jones and likely Garrity and Lowe missing and all are probably first choice starters so going to be a scratch side thats low on confidence.

Expect a couple of the youth players to come in such as Shorrock (whos 16) and Walters (who does look a big talent to be fair).

If Lowe and Garrity don't recover then its a young backline of Nathan Smith, Jesse Debrah and Lewis Cass with possibly Sang at RWB and a young right winger in his first full season James Plant at Left Wing Back or youth teamer Jack Shorrock.

Assume Arblaster will come back in who's our best player (arguably of the last 20 years!) and Ojo with Alfie Devine and Walters maybe in the middle and Ryan Loft up front or Uche Ikpeazu.

IT is probably the best Vale side we've had between both boxes in a couple of decades and the football we play at times is very good but we've a make shift defence making sloppy errors with all our experience out and have zero fit capable strikers (Uche has played about 90 minutes since February and Loft is just back from injury having not got a look in at Rovers).

Will take a massive effort for us tonight to get through this one in our current state and possibly will spell the end of Andy Crosby as Vale manager.

See what happens but its not a happy fan base at the moment after a great start and although performances had been good despite results, Saturday was abysmal.

Expect around 65% Vale possession but little threat and a sloppy couple of goals conceded that are entirely avoidable at the other end.

That said should be a decent atmosphere in that away end with it sold out so just going to enjoy that and see what happens!

If you come and keep 65% possession against us at Field Mill I’ll presume either our squad has a rampant illness around the squad or you are Man City in disguise.

No we just ping it between our back 5 and the keeper for much of that!
