Agent’s fees now come out of the individual player’s contract - about time too.

Actors have agents and they pay them a % of whatever gig their agents get them. Why football agents seem to think clubs should pay them, God knows.
Do they?

If agents fees come out of the cap there is less for players. Should be chased out of grounds, though.

The Athletic has said that Scunny and Southend were the two clubs that opposed the salary cap.

I don't really understand why our chairman would oppose it considering he has said he wants too and has massively cut back our budget this year. A salary cap seems beneficial for a smaller club like ours.

It’s been widely accepted that Bradford did though?

I am all for a salary cap in general, and agents fees should a) come out of their players pocket and b) they only get a fee for one transaction (i.e. they only get paid by a player and not by both a player and club). No way agents should be earning more money then the lowest revenue club in a professional league....by the way, i'm not a fan of agents :)

They’ve now said it was Bradford and Southend as the two clubs to oppose it. Salford initially opposed it, however changed their mind after discussions with the league.

Sounds as though a lot of clubs aren’t a fan of the idea, but needed something brought in due to COVID so agreed.

Championship yet to schedule a vote as the EFL know they’re not close to a majority.

Portsmouth chairman has slated it, accusing other clubs of attempting to remove their advantage of high attendances and expects the PFA’s legal challenge to force the EFL to amend their current rules.

In L1 is was:

"Minds were changed in League One, too, where the vote was much closer.

Needing 16 votes for approval, the League got exactly that, with Sunderland, Portsmouth and Ipswich, the clubs with the biggest average attendances in the division last season, leading the opposition. They were joined by two of the relegated sides, Charlton Athletic and Hull City, as well as Oxford United and Plymouth Argyle, just up from League Two. Wigan Athletic, perhaps distracted by their own financial crisis and unlucky relegation, abstained."
