Yesss! Thanks Cambridge. We're finally out of the bloody thing.
B Team Boycott teetering on the brink as more of our fans have aspirations of fielding our B team in the competition in the coming seasons. :hypo:

We're going to win this damn thing aren't we, every mural of Mark Bonner in the future will be plastered with him holding up this fucking trophy.

Come on Rotherham.

We have some decent squad players to give a run out, but judging on our 2 league games I think your first team (if you play them) will have too much.
Congratulations I think!

Fortunately, we’ve not ban playing just first teamers - eg Ironside among others didn’t play on Tuesday. But yeah we’re playing far too many first teamers for my liking. We need to get out of this thing sharpish.

Now that we've sent Simper and Jobe on loan we simply don't have many players we can switch into the side. I was very glad to see Digby, Williams and Ironside rested though.

It appears the fixture congestion has forced us to throw our Pizza Cup game tonight. We're playing a team made up entirely of youth players and third choice seniors like Bayliss and Bennett against Arsenal, who have the likes of that Patino who scored against Sunderland in the League Cup.

As little as I care for this competition, allowing a Premier League B Team almost a free pass to reach the semi-finals rankles somewhat.

Which will make your possible victory even sweeter then…

Full focus on the league for me. So hope the kids give a good account of themselves but we bow out. Bennett would be first team when fit to be fair but been out for 12 months with knee ligaments. Was a top Chapionship left back and not not too old.

To be fair, every chance we could win. We have one of the best youth teams in the country and got a lot of internationals at that level.

Hopefully they’ll make the final as it’ll cause uproar when they do!

I give up with this comp, we just can't get out of it! Got absolutely dominated from what I watched, but our goalkeeper had a blinder. I am happy to knock out a B team though, it's probably one of our most impressive results of the season when considering the teams.

The kids had a solid enough game. Jones had 1 very good save but apart from that it was, pass, pass, pass by the Arsenal kids and trying to pass it in the net, then not being able to shoot and knocking back for someone to hammer a 30 yard shot into row z. Imagine their possession stats were big.

Played most of the game with 8 academy players and we finished the last 20 minutes with 9 academy players. Sometimes giving local youth a chance to shine pays off.

We made 9 changes from Saturday and let Wood, Smith, Rathbone and Barlaser have a night off totally.

Decent game and some very good penalties, some will see it as a distraction but it's getting back up players valuable game time so can't grumble TBH.

Very glad Wigan sorted Arsenal's kids out and well done to Hartlepool and Sutton (hope we don't draw them).
