Diving against Lithuania. That's low.

What for?
Build up the confidence to do it in bigger games?

Arguable either way but I think it's probably wise to employ whatever tactics are going to get you the win on a given day. If you don't need to do anything special, don't bother. Just do the basics well and take the win.

That's not an own goal, its a deflection. His headers on target.

Because you have the freedom to do so? This one touch stuff is, I'd imagine, with an idea to play quicker and better football. All this holding onto possession stuff is not important against the weaker teams. Against Italy, yeah sure, make sure you don't lose it at all costs. But against these guys, take more risks, be a bit more adventurous. Don't mind it to be honest.

I wasn't really thinking about the quality of opposition to be honest, but I don't think playing fast and loose tonight will do much to aid preparation in trying to keep the ball against better sides.

Danny Welbeck has been very good so far. Unless Kane usurps Rooney as the CF, or Hodgson decides to play with 2 strikers, seeing how Kane does against Italy on Tuesday makes complete sense.

Welbeck isn't as bad as people make out - he was poor when being played out of position at United, but being played down the middle at Arsenal, he looks much, much better.

He's worse than anyone could make out. Utterly useless lump of shite.

That was an OG but if you're going to desperately try and big him up...David Healy was top scorer a few years ago, sometimes shit does stick to something.
Don't speak ill of Sir David. Never utilised properly at club level. You don't score a hat-trick against Spain unless you can play a bit.

Pretty solid performance so far.

Welbeck playing well despite the diving.

Seems whenever WelKlinsmann dives we score soon after.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
That dive was embarrassing.

Nice goal tho

Comms were desperately claiming a pen for 'evasive action and a slight brush'.

If Evasive Action becomes standard then tackling in the penalty area may as well be illegal.

And get Kane on now. No point saying that you can't play inexperienced players when you don't give them a shot for half an hour in a dead rubber here.

I'm not sure I could have made that point less desperately. He's consistently been England's most prolific wide forward throughout his international career, and he's continued his good form for England again in this campaign. He's maybe shit if you're prepared to dismiss the rest of the squad as shit too, but it makes absolutely no sense to single him out.
