Game round 1 - predict the scores​

Keeping it simple for the first game round. It's quite simply predict the scores from matchday 1.

Here are the fixtures:

France vs Romania
Albania vs Switzerland
England vs Russia
Wales vs Slovakia
Germany vs Ukraine
Poland vs Northern Ireland
Spain vs Czech Republic
Turkey vs Croatia
Belgium vs Italy
Republic of Ireland vs Sweden
Portugal vs Iceland
Hungary vs Austria

Scoring
Scores are reset back to zero now after the advantage round (more on the advantages gained below).

1 point - correct result
3 points - correct scoreline

Advantages
The top three teams all gained an advantage for this task. They are as follows:

Team Zagorakis gains 5 jokers.

Team Gullit gains 3 jokers.

Team Casillas gains 3 jokers

Each joker is worth double points. You can only put one joker per match. If you put a joker on a game and you score 0 points on it, then it will be a wasted joker. Obviously if you nail a scoreline with a joker on it, you'll get 6 points instead of 3. Place them wisely.

Where to make your predictions?

In your PMs please just like you did for the England and France line ups. You can discuss as much as you want but you need to bold your final team decision.

Game points for the overall table

Once the game round is done, we'll add up all the points you scored on the fixtures combined with the points you scored on the England/France lineups. The team with the most points will win and gain 5 points for the overall game table. As you can see below, this drops by one for every position lower you finish.

1st place - 5 points
2nd place - 4 points
3rd place - 3 points
4th place - 2 points
5th place - 1 point
6th place - 0 points.

At the end of the 6 game rounds (when the Euros is over), we will look at the overall table and see which team has won Euro 2016 Grandstand.

Deadline is Friday 7.30pm

Note: The next advantage round will actually begin midway through this game round as the turn around between matchday 1 and 2 is only a day. Until the knockout stages, things will move at quite a pace. I'll try to make things as clear as possible as we go along and give you a lot of notice about when things are going to happen. But yeah, feel free to ask any questions if you're unsure etc.

Oh yeah, and because live scoring is much more fun than just adding it all up once all 12 fixtures are done, I'll be updating the game round leaderboard after each fixture (when I'm around obviously). So you'll be able to see how your team is going fixture to fixture hopefully. Plus the England and France line up points could get teams off to a great start early on.

Hope you're all enjoying anyway so far. Running a forum game is more work than I though (kudos Magic, LR, Oaf et al) but it's good fun to be on the other side for once and seeing every team really get into it. Thanks for all being great sports so far (especially you Spidey, keep it up!)
