The twists and turns continue. Blyth lost 2-1 at home to Skelmersdale, whilst Darlington won 2-0 away at Grantham, Stephen Thompson and Liam Hardy with the goals. 1 point adift with two games in hand. Might have lost Phil Turnbull to a hamstring injury which would be a great blow. Why he is playing at this level i don't know.. Home to Skelmersdale on Tuesday. Hope we heed the warning from their performance today. If we get our heads in front, it may affect how Blyth approach their final games, rest up for the play offs or risk it and go full on the last three games. Don't think i've been prouder of a bunch of players than I am now.

I'm bored of saying it now and I'm sure you lot are bored of reading it but, you know what, Hyde's run of bad luck shows no signs of ending.

A poster on the Hyde forum put it far more eloquently than I could: "On another day we might have got a point or more. On another day the referee might have given us a penalty or two. And on another day a perfectly good goal would have stood. Today wasn't our day. Instead it was another agonizing nail in the relegation coffin."

Any by partial way of confirmation from the Ilkeston twitter: "penalty let off."

Darlo moved to the top of the league with a convincing victory in a game moved to Spennymoor's ground due to Bishop Auckland being waterlogged again. Never in doubt, no nerves, could easily have been 6 or 7. Few more injuries though, meaning we finished with 10 men. Thankfully, no game until Saturday. 2 points clear with a game in hand. Considering the weather, the fact we moved it to a ground even further from Darlington, and Man City on the box, a decent crowd of 1296.

Delighted to announce that our Community Share Offer, which was instigated with the intention of raising £100,000 to fund our move back to Darlington for next season, and was scheduled to run until end of May, has closed after reaching its target in 21 days. Tremendous effort. Finally believing it's going to happen this time.

Also delighted to report that Spennymoor wouldn't take a fee from us for hosting our game on Tuesday night, instead asking that the money be put into the Fund to move back home. Same again tomorrow. Class owner, class club. Hopefully they'll be in NPL next season.

Warrington are up from the Div 1 North with a 6-1 win over Prescot Cables. Still a two horse race in the Div 1 South between Stafford and Shaw Lane Aquaforce.

Finally, Lady Luck didn't piss on Hyde's chips (it didn't shine on them either but, hey, you can't have everything). Hyde went toe-to-toe with Buxton in a decent game and very even contest but were just edged out by the odd goal in three. Whitby losing means that the remote possibility of staying up still exists (at least until tonight).

I wasn't at the Hyde game last night so can't really comment but it sounded close until the last 10 minutes per the twitter feeds from both clubs.

Comfottable win, but with Blyth also winning, looks like we need a point from our remaining 2 matches to go up as champions. 2 points clear, with a game in hand so 1 win definately wins it, whilst if we only manage a point, it would take an eleven goal turnover in goal difference to lose it. Onto Whitby away on Thursday. Hopefully a tired team has it in them to do it one more time.

Was at Ashton V Halesowen tonight, another goal for the impressive Pilkington and Joe Connor was a rock at the back for them, I can see how he got in the division team of the year.

Haha. Just noticed that Glossop North End host Nortwich tonight in the First Divison North. They then travel to Cheshire for the reverse league fixture on Saturday before meeting Nortwich for a two leg play-off semi final! 4 meetings in a week? That must be rare.

Posted on our board on Saturday - class.

Hello, I'm God Almighty and I'm new to this board.

However, being omniscient, omnipresent and all powerful, I know exactly what you all post. I also know what you all think, before you post (take note Andy Park).

I've been less than impressed over the years by the levels of aggressive and vituperative non-belief in my existence, particularly by the likes of Quakerz, DarloOnTheUp and Lawman3. I have tried to find a vessel through which I can spread my message, but, sadly, only DarloBaz had sufficient space in his head to receive my wisdom.

Consequently, Darlington FC, through their heathen supporters, have become a symbol of all that is wrong in the modern secular age. I took it upon myself to make the lives of their supporters as miserable as possible. I inflicted upon them a number of selfish, feckless owners whom I hoped would bring about their demise. One even built a cavernous arena which haemorrhaged money. Alas, this didn't do enough to end the club.

I then used my inflence within the FA to demote them, and forced them to change their name, and they had to move out of town. When that wasn't enough, I sought to use the weather to inflict further misery upon them. Heritage Park experienced few postponements before Darlington moved in, but torrential rain is one of my simplest, yet most powerful, weapons.

Throughout this, however, the fans displayed a remarkable resilience and fortitude. I tried my best to destroy the club, and urinate on the hopes and dreams of the supporters. But they kept going, stayed united and persevered through dark times.

I now have to admit defeat. You have won. The realisation came when, faced with yet more fundraising targets, you managed to raise £100k in a ridiculously short space of time. You bastards have earned my grudging respect.

So, in the spirit of reconciliation, I have decided that you can have your return to Darlington, and you can have your promotion push.

I will refrain from further torrential rain for the next 7 days. However, I'm planning for some big rain in the midlands next Saturday, so you better get your promotion wrapped up by then.

Anyway, I'm going to leave you alone for a bit. I've got some pressing business to attend to in Newcastle.

God bless.

Good idea. Will get them more attentiom and stop folk thinking they are a village side. Wonder if they offer barnsley season ticket holders cheaper admission
James Walshaw playing for Shaw Lane Aquaforce now I see. I bet he didn't come cheap, still probably worth the money though.

What a way to win the league.

Whitby 1 Darlington 7 Armstrong 3, Thompson, Burgess, Galbraith, Scott
Around 1300 away fans enjoyed a sensational performance as Darlo ignored any fatigue to destroy Whitby, and take the title with a game to spare. Three up in 9 minutes, 6 up at half time, why was I so nervous all day? 106 goals, 104 points and a plus 65 goal difference. National league north, here ee come.
