The most pleasing aspect is that we appear to have dominated the game and didn't give Exeter a sniff. Bizarrely, they appear to have tried to bully us and be physical rather than playing their own game (unless that's a change in approach from Tisadale and is now the norm).

Akinde's just starting to warm up now having had a little bit of a slow start and Freck is looking much better this season as we all thought he would. Difficult moving Club's in the middle of a season with a niggling injury and personal problems.

We have MK in a couple of weeks, so in the opening 8 games we'll have played Exeter, MK, Northampton, Notts and Swindon - all teams you'd have expected to be in and around it before the season kicked off, so to be in our current position, even at this early stage, is certainly a welcome one.

An impressive result for lincoln and a good start all round.

With chesterfield going down and failing and Notts county trying impressively to escape the league we best start doing something or else we’ll be on our own next season.

Looking forward to Devon (we’ve already won the league in August) Lads assessment of that one.

Well done the Imps , thoroughly deserved win. Lincoln were clinical, admirably niggly and a tad cynical to boot. Promotion beckons IMO.

We were second best all afternoon and on that evidence Lincoln will be going up. They were physical but clinical and Akinde is a proper handful. Shackell and Bostwick were so solid too.

We were awful though, which is worrying. We looked scared to get on the ball and try to attack Lincoln. Taylor said in his post match that some players may be a bit too comfortable so he will probably mix things up in the coming weeks.

The ref was dire and there was a bit of time wasting from Lincoln but to be honest we were our own worst enemies today.

Well done Lincoln they will go up for sure.

Well done to Lincoln, thoroughly deserved the win, but don't start with us being the bullies here. Lincoln are the new Wycombe but like them that will serve them well with weak refs. Some of the bookings were ridiculous. We haven't had that many bookings in years
A bad day but this time last year we went below Notts County having lost to them 4-1. I hope we can put this behind us as we are not a bad team on one performance.

Could only listen on the radio but they made you sound pretty brutal! Radio bias? Maybe.

Sounded like we were completely on top, which I was very surprised about. First league away game where we’ve performed, but also sounds like Exeter didn’t show up fortunately for us.

R.e. Time wasting. Of course we time wasted! Like every other team in this league would, especially against a promotion rival. Any team leading against Exeter away would waste time! Particularly 2nd half. Slow down the game to sniff out any chance you had.

Alsnot certain that Exeter will be up there come the end of the season. Thankfully for us we played well and hit them when they weren’t at their best.

P.s. cheers Swindon!

Just got back from Exeter- the best away performance since DC arrived (IMHO)...even better than Coventry last season.

Controlled the game today, had options in attack and defence was very strong. Another clean sheet to boot.

Exeter will be there or thereabouts this season- just hit us on a purple patch.

Thoroughly deserved result. They were the better team today. But by our standards that was very poor and we can do a lot better, so not despairing just yet !. I think Akinde might get 20 if he avoids injury for the Imps

Maybe he's from Devon, North Korea, where he only hears positive propaganda about his football club.

Having seen the goals numerous times, it's nice to see the distinct lack of hoofing for all three. We are definitely mixing the play more this season with the players DC has at his disposal.

Yep, well worked goals there and that was without Green, McCartan and Mensah.

19 in all competitions already and it took us until November to do that last season.

Fair play Imps, that's a great result. Bit of a psychological hurdle after the playoff defeat too. Devasted to see Akinde score from open play as I was hoping to make a thread called 'The Great John Akinde' if he got to ten league matches without a proper goal.

And without our best CB Wharton, would still have him partnering Shackell and moving Bozzie to CM.

I haven't read this anywhere but is Greeny injured? He wasn't at the game at all (didn't even travel down)

With a bit more luck it could have been a hat trick, hit the post, header saved and was right behind their player when scored the OG.
Seems to be getting up to speed as our the rest of the squad.

It took me 3 hours to get back to Swindon from Lincoln and I thought that was good.

I think he was being slightly tongue in cheek about teams fearing them!
