Tough call this one. We're on a losing streak which admittedly includes Bournemouth and Sheff Utd (on pens), but losing is losing. The squad will have been in all week, morning and afternoon so will at least be well drilled. A couple are having run outs with the ressies today after injury but Magnay will be suspended and he's an important player for us.

Still even when we were pants last season, Exeter away was one of our few good days and we have a decent record there.

I'll say 1-1.

Yep, tough to call....

If Hartlepool sit and defend as York did I think it will be a draw. However, if there's any space to exploit I fancy us to win 2-1. Magnay being suspended is a bonus and I suspect we will be confident going forward with out front three all scoring on Saturday.

Reckon we'll sneak it.

Yeah we've a good record at Exeter, but don't know what side we'll put out due to injuries, especially the loss of Parnaby, and suspensions.
Paynter being injured will force Moore to pair Raks & Fenwick, our best forwards in my opinion.
Going for a 2-1 win !!

There will certainly be plenty of space for you to exploit. We may not be able to field a right back, so your left winger will certainly have space! I expect Ronnie will be firing rockets up a couple of our players arses before the game. I'm normally on the pessimistic side (justifiably most of the time), but I think he will get this one right.

Sounds like it will be another open game. Plenty of goals. I'll go 3-2, Bingham & Fenwick combining for all three goals.

Yes , Parnaby will be a big miss , those first 6 minutes of a game are crucial

Parnaby retired today so he's not even going to give us six minutes.

From piss taking about too many right backs, to not even having one available. Looks like a 3-5-2 with Worley, Harrison and Jones and Bates in front. He got an hour for the ressies the other day. The rest picks itself.

Be nice to see how Fenwick and Bingham do as a two up front. Bings has been out too wide so far.

Hold the back page. We've got Brad Halliday in on loan from Boro.

I'll be disappointed if we don't win this one, although we normally lose to Hartlepool so it would be no shock.

2-1 City win. Wheeler and Nichols scoring.

Deserved. Hartlepool parked the bus first half, had a little more of the ball in the second and came closest to scoring when they got a (deserved) penalty, but Bobby made a comfortable save after a weak penalty from Bingham. Lovely little finish from Ribeiro at the end. We didn't live up to last weeks perfromance but we still were worthy of our victory.

Great win and one which we wouldn't have won 12 months ago. That's now four clean sheets in a row at home which is unheard of. We have a steel about us and long may that continue.

Chuffed that Olejnik got a penalty save from the god that is Bingham...Top stuff. Feel for any Hartlepool fans who now have a two day trip back up north.

On to Accy away now.

You have to laugh. Ronny has gone from a god to being called tactically inept with calls for him to be sacked. All in the space of 3 games. Football fans, who would have them.

Only anyone who is clueless would be calling for his sacking ..... his loyalty to Bingham is strange given the return he has produced at the expense of last season's top scorer ... what he needs to do sharpish is get one or two proper lower league midfielders in , only one of the three or four he picks is up to the job

That came from having a quick look at the Hartlepool forum, a percentage of fans really are amazingly fickle including ours. We had fans chanting " your getting sacked in the morning" towards our own manager after 60 minutes of the season. People want instant success regardless of how many new faces need time to bed in.

There is of course the injuries and suspension to take into consideration. It's not tactical ineptitude it's player availability. With ten new players in as well, he's struggling to find his first team.

Moore had a massive re-building job on his hands, people calling for him to be sacked are halfwits, end of.
The team is a mile better than last season's,mid table obscurity will do me & improve again the following season.

Moore might want to consider taking Anthony Sweeney off us, he has been an alright midfielder for us but he's just not what we need anymore and I'm sure he's mates with Billy Paynter too. Now I know he left you guys not so long ago but he might just be the sort of player your team needs.

Returning players simply don't work, or rarely anyway. Sweens was quality for us for a good few years but, no, not now.

This is what I have enjoyed the most so far about this site, getting more than a one sided opinion. The only reports I have seen from the weekend have said we certainly deserved the win, albeit mainly from Hartlepool fans/reports etc. Sounded like we created the better chances, but couldn't take them. I would be interested to know what you deem as 'worthy of our victory'

I thought we played better. We passed it better, we kept the ball better, we just looked a better side. You had a couple good chances which on another with a half decent striker up top you would have finished, however, I don't think chances created is the be-all and end-all as to which team was the better or deserved the victory.

Read a few posts on Exeweb and most thought we were a decent side & Exeter played well to beat us.Can't remember anyone saying we were defensive in the first half.

Thanks Grecian. Personally, I would rather be the team creating chances than the one keeping the ball better. I don't think we will ever pass a team off the park, but we will certainly always create chances. Like you say, if we had a Jabo Ibehre (oops, I shouldn't say that should I!?) upfront who can put these chances away, I think we would still be up in the playoffs at least.

Good to get a different opinion though. By all accounts, the general consensus is that Exeter were probably the best team we have played so far this season.

Pools have got a cracking young player in Brad Halliday. He was on loan with us at the end of last season, did really well and could never be accused of going missing.

We all knew our good start wouldn't last. We have a difficult September, and even after winning our first 3 games I still expected to be mid table come the end of the season. Its no big deal at the minute.

Ronnie is still a god, as is Rakish.

it was a poor pen to be honest though. i know the rak wants to give others a bit of a head-start on the golden boot award but that was basically a match fixing offence.
