Unfortunately its all a publicity stunt.

Sutton were sposnpored by Sun Bets just for this game and they were 8/1 for Shaw to eat a pie during the match.

Bit late to the party... but... well played Sutton for getting this far (& dumping Wombles out along the way).

Bit shameless to get sponsoring from the S*n (or anything to do with the brand as the case may be) but when the ££ signs are in the eyes it's easy to overlook & I know most of your fans weren't too happy with it in the first place.

Wayne Shaw is Wayne Shaw. Not much too add there, hope the gambling commission & FA don't take him out too badly for the pie incident although worryingly they can get him pretty bad for this. I mean, he's already been sacked from Sutton once for fitnesscoachgate (sorry about that!) & I doubt your board will want to re-hire him again if it came down to it.

I can see Smat's point. Sutton were just happy to be there, they had no intention of causing an upset. Just take a look at Doswell parading around the ground before the game had even started. That's not the sort of mentality Lincoln will be adopting when they go to the Emirates. While Sutton are happy to fanny around with pies, Danny Cowley grabbed a beer out of Alan Power's hand after the Burnley win because we've got another game tonight. That's the mentality of winners.

^^ I think this is an excellent point mate. Defo looking forward to playing a proper, competitive game against a team who are actually remotely interested in sporting success.

Meanwhile I'm glad to see the FA coming down on Sutton like a ton of bricks for their behaviour which brought the whole sport into disrepute. I don't think it's overstating it to say that Sutton very nearly destroyed football last night. Sickening and I hope they are closed down.
