No TV game for us so it's a Saturday 3pm kick off in that London, but Crystal Palace have made the generous offer to subsidise our official coach travel from Hartlepool down to Selhurst Park. Lovely gesture from them, much appreciated.

Yep agreed, as much as everyone loves to dogpile on the PL (mostly rightfully so) this is a really generous move from them.

My mate offered to drive,so I snapped his hand off, not literally.
£76 for the Jury's Inn,£6 for 24hrs parking.
Impressed we've sold our allocation & asked for more

I was very surprised also, I was underwhelmed personally by the draw but everyone’s well up for it, should be a good day out just hope we don’t get stuffed too badly.

We could've got worse and It's looking a better draw now Palace have sold out as well. Whats that? 25000? Should be a cracking day out and Saturday 3pm as well.

Palace fan in peace. If it Jurys inn in Croydon, you could actually walk to ground in about 30 mins or it is 3 min walk to East Croydon station. Just be aware Croydon is a bit of a s***hole especially at night. Anything else you need to know will be glad to help

I drive to every home gam, parking is a nightmare near the groun. You may want to try just park or yourparkingspace, usually some available near the ground, although some charges are a p**take. I usually pay about £7. Glad to help if need to know anything else

Palace fan of 60 years here. Firstly congratulations on your cup run ( hope this does not sound patronising) and also a fantastic effort with your ticket sales. Little bit about Selhurst Park and Palace. The ground is a s***hole but we love it. We are trying to build a new stand but have had to contend with Croydon Council and Mayor of London ( who supports Liverpool), whether it will ever be built who knows. Match day atmosphere is usually very good, although struggled a bit with Royball. There is a fanzone behind the main stand, which away fans are welcome to use, need to show match ticket. Food not great and expensive (imo) there is a very good chippy in Whitehorse Road and a Sainsbury’s at the ground. I be,I eve the pub at corner of Whitehorse Road and Thornton Heath High Street ( the George?) is designated for away fans.
We are excited by Vieira and our new academy so things are looking quite bright for the future, we have a youngish team but they are still prone too making mistakes which get punished in PL, unfortunately! We will be without Zaha and Kouyate both at the Afcon.
I am sure all those who are travelling will have a great day, Palace fans tend to be a friendly bunch and create a good atmosphere. I do agree absolu outrageous this is not on tv.
If I can assist in any way happy to do so and apologies for highjacking your forum.
Safe journey and enjoy

As a Palace fan I hate many aspects of the PL. I have supported Palace through every division. Our Chairman, Steve Parish, is a lifelong fan. He headed a consortium in 2010 which basically saved the club. He knows and appreciates how the lower league teams are suffering so this gesture does not surprise me. Doubt many other PL clubs would have done it. Surviving 2 administrations opens your eyes no doubt

Remember Hartlepool fans, VAR will be in operation fir the tie ( bizarrely). Hopefully we will have a half decent ref
Yeah, that will be a first for us. I don't think I could cope with that every week, the uncertainty of whether or not a goal can be celebrated. The joyless dampening of those spontaneous outbursts of joy that are the reason we love football in the first place. It's just hideous.

We had it in operation when we played City at the Etihad a couple of years ago. Was never much a fan of it prior to that but a couple of the City goals got reviewed on that and it was really tedious waiting for them to make the decision so came away with my view of it hardening against it.

Thankfully could never implement it in L2 anyway as with the likes of Trevor Kettle it’d add another hour or so to every game.

Yes you were definitely hard done by there with the penalty and potential offsides.

Yeah,Jury's Inn,Croydon.
I let my mate sort it out seeing as he's driving,I would have preferred somewhere more central so we could get to Piccalilli Circus on Sat night.
I went to CP in the league Cup years ago & didn't really seem much going on.
Can you recommend anywhere decent for a Sat night out.
Can't see it being more dodgy than Amsterdam on a nighttime.

Not much in Croydon, you may be better getting train into Victoria from East Croydon, fast train takes about 20 minutes or train to Brighton ( spit). Be prepared to pay high prices though, wherever you go. If you decide to go to Victoria, don’t get Gatwick Express,it is a ripoff, there are fast trains that only stop at Clapham Junctio, much cheaper.Sorry can’t be more help but enjoy your trip

Are you doing fancy dress or is that only for your last away game of the season.

Fancy dress is normally only last away game of the season, I haven’t seen anything about it being done at palace, although I’m happy to be corrected if wrong.

Nothing decided as far as I’m aware, it normally only gets chosen a week or two before the game weirdly. Covid has obviously stopped the last few so expect there will be decent numbers for the last one this season, plus Scunthorpe isn’t too far away I suppose.

As Optimistic said, its always the last game for fancy dress.
The lad who starts it often comes up with random ideas.
Meatloaf has been mentioned, bizarrely ,he was a Pools fan.
Hopefully were safe by the time we play Scunny & with it being a relatively short trip for us,will be a very good turn out.
