Could do without playing AFC. It's bound to be on Sky with all the 'grudge match' shite they can stir up. Why couldn't we have Weston-Super-Mare away or something.

Feel the complete opposite. Great chance to avenge that whimpering performance under Williamson.

Not overly bothered but we do have the element of righting last seasons wrong when we lost 7-0 on the opening day.

That said it’s purely about the league this season so going out wouldn’t bother me too much and certainly don’t want to risk anyone who has a niggle or knock.

Play a few who need minutes certainly and maybe experiment a bit but avoid any injuries or suspensions.

Bit torn on this on the one hand would be great to keep the league games coming to keep momentum going but on the other hand a break to take stock, work on a few things and rest a few might not be a bad thing.

Obviously DC will get a hero’s reception.

Not going to Barrow, doubt I’ll be able to watch so England v All Blacks for me as our cup record is bloody woeful.

Wealdstone at home is about as good a draw as you could hope for. Struggling non-league side at home. I think the only tie I'd have taken over that would have been Scunny but despite looking through the draw multiple times I'm struggling to see who they're up against in Round One.

All about getting into Round Three at all costs so you can secure a dream tie like we did when we got Burton a few seasons ago.

In two minds how we should approach this Barnsley game. With no pizza trophy or midweek fixture either side could probably go stronger but it’s also a good opportunity for minutes for the likes of Grant or even Smith.

Obviously DC will be returning but he had his welcome when he came with Cheltenham last season (and we were far too welcoming for the whole 90 then) so wish him well after but before and during he should be treated as just another opponent. Barnsley should be favourites but will say I think it goes the distance to pens.

Dag & Red at home is very winnable. They look like a mid-table team in the National League and their away record is pretty shaky. Plus with us being in good form in general and even more so at home, I'd like to think we can come away with a win.

A comfy multi goal win would be lovely, but I'd take a scrappy, scruffy one to get us into the next round.

Bolton for us not sure what to make of them this season we've already beat 3 League one teams this season so we should be in with a chance at home.

Wigan at home.
We'll obviously be underdogs, but Wigan are in a rough patch too so I still have a bit of optimism.
Good chance to give our young goalie Gabe Breeze a start, give him so much needed 1st team experience.

I hardly even care.

An FA Cup game seems so trivial in the scheme of things when you’re going through what we are.

Horsham at home for us. Good opportunity for us to give some minutes to a number of squad players and lads returning from injury such as Dunkley, Tanton & Fleck.

Quick look at their recent results shows they’re in very good form in the Isthiam league so expecting them to come here and cause us a few problems for sure, but you’d hope we’ll have enough quality to see them off reasonably comfortably.

Early team prediction I’m going for:

Boot
Tanton Williams Grimes Horton
Jones Fleck
Jacobs Banks Berry
Grigg

Tbf FA Cup games usually become bigger when you’re a non-league side looking for a cup upset / run to fund a few transfers.

As we got to the quarters under Hurst to show real progress a Artell needs to be getting us into the Semi Finals at least IMO.

It’s definitely not being televised. Not even abroad so those with a fire stick and VPN can watch from what I understand.

We will definitely make changes and rotate I agree but given our home form I’m hoping we see it as a chance to kick start our season and get that monkey off our back. If we’d have won 1 or 2 of those 6 home games we’d drawn we’d be right up there so home form needs to improve.

We’ve not been taking the cup remotely seriously for years, so with a pretty kind first round tie I’d quite like a little run this year and us not to play the BSM Trophy team as we have the last couple.

I’d give a few of the bench lads a start but otherwise go pretty strong with no midweek game either side.

Exactly team I would have predicted, with Grigg & Madden playing half each. Although I think Jessop will play (or did he go out on loan?).

Cook on bench & maybe Mohiuddun too.

Really hope we get a glimpse of Fleck even if it’s for 30 minutes or so. I’m glad we’ve been extra careful with him, & I know he’s picked up a few niggles here and there which is to be expected when he’s been out for so long? but he needs to be thrown in there at some point. Think with this game and the BSM game against Grimsby coming up soon that they’re the perfect opportunity to get him some minutes.

Yeah seems a good opportunity to see how he gets on. I’ve just read that Horton isn’t registered for league which I didn’t know so sure he’ll play as cup doesn’t count. Bit gutting for him, shame he’s not found a loan.
