Lost to Morecambe. Alexander needs to go soon. Dreadful football, can't motivate his team. Dreadful manager.

I assume the subs were preplanned with Walsall on Tuesday, disappointing to collapse like that still.

A loss and 3 injuries…wonderful. Naylor is going to be a big miss. Grigg now our only striker. We could be screwed.

I didn't watch the game today and Peterborough away was a hard draw. But, Maynard has no goodwill in the bank so every mistake he makes heaps the pressure in him.
I said last week he's working up to the sack and unless he gets a winning run going very soon I think it's inevitable.

Poor performance, mistakes, looking tired and Jellis went off with a knock with a difficult week coming up.

Not a great day. But rather get our mistakes out our system in the cup than in the league, looking for the silver lining.

You can lose to Peterborough, but I’ve never seen a game at half time where our tactics are staring us in the face like that. We had them cooked every time we attacked quickly with pace, and looked a mess any time we played out from the back and tried to slow it down. So obviously we spent the entire second half trying to do the latter. He is hopeless. A lost cause.

I worry that he won't ever get a promotion winning run going, sort of four wins on the bounce form which you have to do at some point in the season to go up.

Honestly, a 12 year-old playing Football Manager could see that you just forget about trying to have possession at half time today and try and hit them on the break.

Sorry to hear of your loss - wanted you to get through.

What are they like, were away there boxing day, most folk say something similar to what i gather you’ve said, poor against pace etc.

Well it certainly wasn't dull. In fact it was like the old days. Expect we were actually in round two.

Have we any word on the seriousness of these injuries?

Adds to the injured list that Dunkley, Metcalfe, Palmer & Fleck are already on. Squad is being tested but at the end of the day, on paper we do have good squad depth for this level so now it’s time to see how good it really is.

As for today’s game, haven’t been but the stats look like Exeter deserved the win so no complaints from me.

Roman Critchlow plays for Dagenham? What the fuck! How did that happen?

I’d have him here in a heartbeat.

Kind of, in that we came against a team that was basically us last season. No one better placed to have the blueprint to beat that, so we naturally did the complete opposite.

Was it dull? Up us last season but with better players.

I certainly didn't expect a 4-3 defeat

There are football league clubs in the south.

He’s easily good enough for L2 if not L1.

We tried to get Critchlow back on loan in the summer, however, Posh rejected our offer of terms for the player; and ends up at Dagenham. Bit of a strange move.

When we had a more competent manager we wouldn't have even been in the 2nd round.

True story.

That he’s been here nearly a year and we’re sticking ‘beat Alfreton Town’ in the positives column basically says it all for me.

He's right on the cusp, the season could go either way. He's had injuries and lost two key players in the summer so he's not had it all his way. Maynard also has us much better defensively and we are right in the mix. It's just doesn't feel like we have the momentum of a promotion run going but it's a long season and perhaps he will get us motoring.

That statement says far more about William's attitude towards the cups than anything else.

Let's be honest if he had beaten Alfreton, he wouldn't have won today either. Probably would have ended a similar scoreline.

Dag & Red are such a bang average team, 15th in the National League and only won once away from home.

Yet they've now beaten 2 L2 teams on the road and are into the 3rd Round. Just turn up for the cups. Fair play to them.

It was a decent, watchable game that was fully there for us to win with a half competent manager.
That’s the thing in comparison with previous piss poor Notts managers/coaches, we’re never awful in one particular game, not this season at least. We very often pretty decent like today but almost always come away with nothing/less than we should. Did well to come from behind in the first half.

That though was brainlessness from everyone concerned in the second and the sooner we get rid of Maynard the better. We’re doing nowt with him in charge.
