Man Utd wanted to charge us £46 for tickets but the club have subsidised the cost so away fans only pay £25. Great gesture from the club, downside is we've only got a 1,900 allocation. Can see that selling out within the first day of sales at those prices.

Don't clubs have to allow around 15% for away fans in the cup? Should get way more than 1,900.

As above you'll get about 9,000 if you need them.

Because Wigan are personally paying £21 to Man Utd for every seat we've been allocated so overall that's around £40k for 1,900 seats. Imagine if we asked for a 9k allocation at Old Trafford and subsidised every seat? That would be around £190k we'd have to pay Man Utd personally! We're not in a position to be doing that. This is still a big payday for the club and we need to maximise revenue with the gates being split 45-45-10.

It's an absolute disgrace that United are allowed to get away with stuff like this. £46 for an FA Cup 4th round game for that away end which is probably one of the worst in the Premier League. I don't think we'd have taken 500 fans at those prices. Great gesture from the club to step in and look after it's own fans.

Doubt you'll get an extension to your allocation, United will sell off the other seats.

Reading subsidised almost 6000 tickets for our game at Old Trafford last week by £15. It was a lot, but you're guaranteed like £1m just for drawing Man Utd away in the FA Cup.

Their ticket prices are a joke though, are forced to only charge £30 in the Prem, so charge 50% more to Championship clubs where that limit does not apply.

We won't ask for another allocation anyway, our preference will be for United to sell all the remaining tickets at those hideous prices as that means more money in the kitty for us. A few fans will be disappointed when it comes to getting tickets but that's life. Plus we're not guaranteed the six figure fee you get for TV. Our match is only being televised if Palace beat Bolton in their replay. Otherwise the BBC are televising Bolton v City. I fancy Bolton to beat Palace as well, Parkinson has a really good cup record and Palace will be focusing on staying up.

Not on TV? It's over ten years since Man Utd last had an FA Cup game that wasn't on TV, I thought that streak was never going to end.

7 in 7 for McCarthy in the Third Round. Who's surprised? Called it, brah. Woeful game. Only positive? Emmanuel. Common theme, there.

Mick McCarthy the sturbborn twat out of the cup again. No doubt he'll act all defensive and refuse any critisism that comes his way to losing to a non league side.

Just the same as when he was at Wolves.

Christ Ipswich that was shocking, turgid clueless football against a non league team, albeit a good one. I know MM has done a decent job at Ipswich over the years considering the budget but this season has been a bad one, how much longer has he got?

It's been a decline since January 2015. Hit top spot after Christmas 2014, and failed to strengthen in January. Started conceding silly goals from then on and Mick hasn't known how to solve it! Scrapped the playoffs that year! It's been getting worse and worse ever since.

To answer your question, he's still got a year and half on his contract. Evans will be reluctant to pay him off. Although got a feeling tonight may be a tipping point.

Absolutely identical to his time at Wolves, wouldn't be surprised if his quotes were exactly the same either.

Told you so.

McCarthy has done a good job at Ipswich, after failing in the play-offs and just missing out the following season the only way for Ipswich was down the table really, considering their investment compared to what they're up against. Possibly time to freshen things up with new management but McCarthy certainly hasn't been a failure at Portman Road, think they just wasted their chance two seasons ago.

Trouble is he has that way of play/setting up teams which no-one minds if you are winning but bad form leads to criticism.

Won the Championship and kept you in the Premier League for 2 seasons, very identical...

Aaron-Bcfc Uhmm... Thought it was obvious but i guessed you missed it. :ffs:

I was referring to the above post as a quote to McCarthy, as he did say the same thing when we lost 5-1 to West Brom...

I think he'll be gone at the end of the season, one way or the other. Can't see him getting sacked while we're midtable and he doesn't seem the sort to walk away just because it's got tough. We'll probably get a better replacement if we wait until the end of the season too.

Agree with this, he's done a good job overall, but it definitely feels like his time has run its course.

As with many clubs I think Rowett would be perfect for you. Seems to know how to work with a small budget to get the best out of his players. An upgrade on McCarthy if you will.

You sure? They moan about the football under McCarthy, it wouldn't improve under Rowett.

Personally I don't give a fuck how the football looks as long as we get results, Rowett played effective football at Brum and it's all gone tits up since they appointed someone who's trying to play prettier football.
