Well done on earning the right to be in the same round as us!

Sadly rather than our little blue neighbours across the road we’re off to sunderland again. We might have won a game by then (not sodding likely)

Would i have wanted a top half conference side, god no - not with what we’re doing atm

Hi Adam. What’s the current thinking on whether you might be joining the party again down here next year?

Hi bud, i think it might get a little worse before it gets better, port vale at home tomorrow and exeter away saturday aren’t going to be easy.

In honesty we’ve had rotten luck with injuries and had literally the entire defence out with injury at one stage, sadly some indiscipline hasn’t aided the situation. We finished last season well so it’s a bit of a surprise. Stephen quinn back in midfield will make a big different tomorrow hopefully.

I don’t doubt should we still be down here in january the necessary funds will be made available but it’s all pretty embarrassing in honesty - but that’s what mansfield are all about

The thought of being back in the conference does strike the fear of god into the fans though, there’s no doubting that.

the conference is exceptionally strong this season though, i’d expect chesterfield to do well (sadly) stockport, wrexham, you, grimsby - there’s going to be some disappointed fans at the end of the season - it’s another season why i think it should be 3 up 3 down between league 2 and the conference (not right now i hasten to add!)

Mansfield, Scunthorpe, Notts and Chesterfield all down here together - what a cosy little foursome. All sorts of little beefs will be kicking off - we need to get out the way because otherwise we'll just be a distraction of two cup finals for Scunthorpe...

Can we not be in the same league as Scunthorpe please? Going off that one nutter who posts in here, I've decided that everyone there is batshit crazy and off their heads on a mix of crack and spice. Stay away please.

You better get promoted (or relegated) then…

You've been losing by the odd goal mostly not getting hammered, right? It feels like if a few of those went with the odd goal going the other way things might look a lot different. Scunthorpe look down and out already, huge numbers in the GA column and no light at the end of the tunnel so in reality there's just the 1 spot to avoid. You tend you think they'll be at least one worst team than Mansfield to fill the AN Other spot with Scunthorpe. I think you'll be alright

Thanks Adam. I hate to say from your point of view but I do see a few little comparisons with our relegation three years ago (bonkers owner aside), decent squad on paper that just isn’t cutting it, not exactly getting hammered every week, manager who should know the level, the hope that strengthening in Jan will change fortunes, feeling that something is just a bit off and you’re struggling to stop the rot. Just a sort of feeling you’re watching a car crash in slow motion and are powerless to stop it. However we still would have stopped up if Sol and fatty Durrell hadn’t pulled off a miracle at Macc, despite not being paid for months!

Wow, that's great going. Should create the sort of atmosphere there was back in the day under the lights at the old Huish or the Rec. Only wish I could be there.
Our allocation sold out yesterday so if it was the full capacity that's 1300 in the away end and 200 seated. You guys have sold well over 2000 apparently so it should be a fantastic night, as you say maybe even like the old days.

The club have said we were given between 900-1000 standing tickets, not the 1300 that is capacity. We would have sold them. Probably on Police advice.

Surely Clough is on borrowed time with all the money Radford and his lass have chucked at it?!

So, were Marske any good when they beat you, or was it a nightmare Chester display?
They were good ~~ we were bad. 3 of the 4 goals were us being disopossessed in the danger area. Mind you at least one of Leicester's goal came that way too v the reds.

Curzon Ashton have sacked their manager after we beat them 4-0 at the weekend despite the fact they’re sat 6th in the league? Seems extremely harsh, unless something gone off behind the scenes

Second manager in as many games that have faced the chop after playing us now… Boreham Wood up next, Garrard clearing his desk as we speak!!
Very strange they outplayed us in every area early in the season. I remember saying to my mate I wish we had Cunningham and not the worst managers since we reformed,

Clough is the one that he’s always wanted and has done well in the lower leagues so knows his stuff.

It’s just very mansfield that someone would be amazing somewhere else then turns shit when they come to mansfield, it happens with alarming regularity  :(

On the face of it we’ve a pretty decent squad, but had we played a top half conference side currently with confidence and injuries i don’t doubt we’d have been beaten, as it is we go to see if we can win at sunderland in the 1st round of the cup 2 seasons in a row, a good few thousand up at the stadium of light will be a nice distraction from the league form.

We didn’t win a game until november (ironically sunderland) last season and finished mid table so whereas it’s concern it’s an issue.

Scunthorpe have looked on a slippery slope the last few seasons.

Only incredibly tedious pricks put people on ignore and then go on about people being on ignore.

"Oooh look at me, look at me. Im so enlightened, I've got people on ignore as I'm so discerning"

Yawn. Boring tedious twat.

Mullin with a goal....we may actually win this.
Though too early to be that optimistic just yet!
