Looking good for a large number of League 1 teams competing in next prestigious round of FA Cup.
Just a shame that it coincides with World Cup.

Can put our feet up this weekend and let you boys all fight it out. Another trip to Oxford so soon would have been pretty garbage anyway!

Problem with this draw is with one exception the non league v L1 games are at the L1 club. If it was the other way around then the Ipswich and FGR ties would hold more interest as a neutral. Expect some pretty routine knockover jobs. It’d hardly be a shock but if picking a lower league club to beat one in this division Grimsby is the standout one at Cambridge.

Newport v Derby could be one that could provide a shock, Newport always seem to turn up in this.

Not really a problem clashing with the World Cup, a good chance for domestic football to shine.
Shame we have our 845th consecutive away tie, but I'm still positive. I'd expect a full strength side, with Nombe coming back to start and maybe Diabate, which would free up Key as a wing back, meaning our defence will be a lot better than when we let in 4 last month.
Not sure many will travel, I suspect they will prefer to go up on New Year's Day instead, especially as there's a train strike on.
Hopeful for at least a draw

As Barnsley beat us, I'll follow them for the rest of the cup

These games could be pretty big for those sides down the arse end of the table, one round’s prize money could mean the chance to get a decent loan player in for the second half of the season, and if you can bag a glamour tie next round, that can make a huge difference financially also.

Not just that but victory over a team that is above yours can produce momentum that takes you into the second half of the season with a spring in your step...perhaps where it was missing before...and see a turn round in fortune that sees you reach a point of safety from relegation. That said, defeat to a team from a lower level is a different matter entirely!

We have Chippenham at home on Sunday. Full price admission, and pushed back a day for extended tv highlights means I won’t go. Stupid decision.

That’s surely Chippenham refusing to let the prices be dropped you’d have thought. Pretty short sighted regardless I’d say.

I don't know - it seems to have given us the proverbial kick up the backside.

Probably our tight arse chairman who rarely ever reduces the admission prices. Despite the fact the gate will be crap. His argument is always - Will we get double the gate if we half the price to get in ? Given we are bottom 4 and fans are still not going - probably not.

Does your tight arse chairman not consider the sales from programmes, beer, faggots?
Was he the bloke winning all the awards last year, too....

He probably doesn’t factor that in.
He runs a tight ship. We are financially sound and make an operating profit. Off the pitch we have good corporate events and it brings in good revenue.
But his communication is shocking. Never spoke once about JfH going or Dino coming in ( is he permanent or not ? No one knows ). He never does offers or any ticket deals to get people in. Fans are fed up.
Consequently our nett home support is 2000 - when it used to be up to 3000 and 4500 for a big game. So we have lost 1000 fans due to apathy and no connection with the club.
Oh and selling strikers with no replacements.
We are league 2 next season and it’s so inevitable.
Faggots ? You thinking of the bescot ?

I thought your place was famous for its faggots. Has that changed?
No reason to visit now then..

More famous for our beer…
Come visit the 2 museums in the town before the game. A third of the beer in the world was produced here at one point. Way less now of course and let’s be honest Carling is shite.
Faggots is a Black Country invention. We do sell them ( I think ) still but they are a curious delicacy - i would question the meat content in them, and what it does to your insides, especially sat on a coach back to Exeter for 5 hours hoping your Claxton does not go off on the way back….

Aye always associated them more with Wolvo or somewhere like that in the Black Country to be honest. Not as refined a delicacy as a bacon and cheese oatcake but I may be biased there. Burton is always one of the better away days I think, some decent boozers to go to.

I enjoyed my faggots and mushy peas at Burton - and yeah it's definitely a decent awayday. Way better than Walsall both inside and outside the stadium...

Everything goes full circle, especially in football. Now Fleetwood are on the end of an' upset' by a non league team. Our away record is actually very sound, much better than our home form. All this counts for nothing in the F A Cup which is still a magical competition for lower league clubs. I will be disappointed to lose this, there is pressure on Scott Brown to deliver so lets see how the team perform. Ebbsfleet, nothing to lose, everything to gain...........

That’s a nice freekick for Alvechurch. Think it was coming how the second half started.

I absolutely despise Oxford. Going to give New Years Day a swerve, I just can't take this

FGR made it through. Wouldn’t say it was convincing at all but in the sense they got the win suppose they would take that.

Well done to Alvechurch though, thought they played through the lines very nicely. Not what would have expected from a team from that level.
