How hard to just delay it for a few more weeks?

Are Concord 1 of the teams who refused to play?
No - they voted to carry on. (Possibly because they knew they were in the Trophy final but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt).
If a Kings Lynn side you’ve already beaten can get a draw at Meadow Lane with half their team furloughed and a 50 year-old on the bench I wouldn’t rule out a shock!

Given there is a bit of money now at stake I suspect we’ll play most of the first team as opposed to the usual 7/8 changes, although most of them played last night and... well.

Should be decent stream numbers though (we cut the price to £8 for the last round) and as it’s split 50/50 (I think?) for the trophy it should be half decent payday anyway in this straightened times.
Just seen this (I'm an occasional visitor). Yes the streaming cash will be very helpful as the chairman and a few others are currently keeping the players topped up with their beer/Lambrusco money. When (OK - IF!) we beat you guys it's another 6 weeks with no gate or bar income before the final. The monet for winning the thing will be most welcome. (Typo there but I like it so I'm keeping it).

As you can imagine we are really looking forward to the match. I reckon Notts will be the biggest ground (and certainly the best) we've ever played a competitive first team match at (bigger than Grimsby, I assume, who stuffed us in the 2nd round a few years back). That record will only last 6 weeks though... There's misplaced confidence for you!

And finally - Aveley - who you smashed in the QF last season - are one of our big local rivals. Just 5 miles down the road. (It's VERY crowded round here). So I'm sure they'll be cheering us on..... Not!

I guess this needs bringing up a bit despite it being last years title.

Notts v Hornchurch
Hereford v Woking

It will be interesting to see what IB decides to go with in this, similar team that played previous rounds, same team that started Tuesday or a mixture.
He has already said that Doyle will remain captain which is telling.

Last time I saw Hereford play was with Long Eaton United at Edgar street in front of 3,000, for the record they won 1-0. Id say it could be a close game between them and Woking.

I think we’d have played a pretty much total reserve team under Ardley. With it being IB’s first game, though, I imagine it’ll probably be the opposite and he’ll want to have a look at what he deemd to be his strongest xi from what he’s seen so far.

This is a mad game, Hornchurch pressing us loads which is useful for IB to see where our issues are. We still should be a couple ahead, though.

Sounds like Stimson is a better manager than anyone we've had this season. I'd take him back here.

Notts manage to find another new and entertaining way to embarrass us.

And Hornchurch have won the penalty shoot-out to get to the final. What a story that is in this bizarre season, and what an interesting final it should be between Hereford and Hornchurch.

Can't be too often that no Step 1 sides end up in the Trophy final.

First time since Grays v Hucknall in 2005. Mark Stimson was Grays manager then too. On course for his 5th FA Trophy.

I genuinely wasn’t interested in the Trophy, but this is still a completely embarrassing day to be a Notts fan, possibly the most embarrassing day ever.

And it’s a pretty high bar.

Not the best first game that for the Notts County manager. I'm far from a Non League anorak so maybe not a suprise but I've never even heard of Hornchurch. Google search says they're in Essex and two steps below here.

Massive well done to one of my local sides Hornchurch, unthinkable achievement. My sister used to live round the corner from their ground and two of my mates more or less live next to Bridge Avenue, so I've been in and around there many, many times.

I may even go to Wembley to support them.

In a way, it might be quite useful for him. All of the problems we’ve had for ages exposed in 90 minutes by an Isthmian League team.

Whose season finished (I should say), five months ago?

Woof.

On the non league podcast this week the Hornchurch chairman was more bothered about who was organising the booze than the match.

Lots of lolz.

Thoroughly deserved, they were brilliant. Reeves and Doyle even managing to get overrun by a part time team who’ve played twice in months was quite impressive.

Just another day at the office for the little old Urchins!

Actually I'm in a total state of shock, but thanks for the positive comments Notts fans.

Getting embarrassed in the Trophy is a right of passage, all true Brothers have to go through it at least once. Weve done it a few times, most memorably when we lost to one of the Ferribys in the final a few years back.

You deserved it. Came from behind three times, scored all your penalties and the keeper saved one as well as keeping one out with a great save in the first half that would have made it 2-0 , kept you in it when you were under pressure and you never gave up, scoring late in both halves.

We on the other hand have turned into a team of lightweight bottlers. They got Ardley the sack and have now put Burchnall on the back foot needing a win on Tuesday.

I did say a few weeks ago you may shock us! But yes, certainly deserved given everything - enjoy Wembley!

Shame it's not actually free at all. Got to have a BT subscription to watch it.
