FYI - ‘we never win against Mansfield and won’t this time’ or ‘we haven’t been beaten by county in years so it’s gotta happen this time’

Same coin, different side. You drongos.

The three amigos are unfortunately collectively making the actual football chat a secondary subject, all three of ya are in a vicious circle.

Except one happens every season and the other doesn’t, but apart from that historical fact you nailed it Conker . Haha
Great summation !

Also, you’ve been in vicious circles many a time on here, just not this particular vicious circle .

Let’s attempt to exit the circle .

In terms of the team selection for this game it’s obviously going to be very interesting to see who the new manager likes the look of in training, it’s real same he’s not had a couple of league games under his belt to observe before this ! Plus who is available, no Enzio, Stead or Hemmings will hurt any new manager ! I just want us to look solid, organised and professional in a game. That’s all I’m asking for but that doesn’t come overnight !

Are those 3 definitely out? If Nathan Thomas starts he is an absolute cert to have a good game against us.

No idea tbh it’s a bit of mystery as far as the two strikers are concerned as they were expected back before now but haven’t resurfaced from the treatment room.

Sadly , exciting flair man Enzio is certainly out long term. Without these three, goals are an issue and style of play / approach options are seriously limited

As for any other missing injured players, other Notts fans will probably know a lot more.

New manager bounce? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Fuck right off. We haven’t had a win at Field Mill since the 90s

You beat us 3-2 in 2005 or 06, can't quite remember without looking. Glynn Hurst scored, and Andy White...

12/13 years ago or Glynn Hurst, not sure which is worse ! Never rated him even when he went through scoring bursts

Think County will win this one tbh.

Whichever way you look at it we're so obviously favourites football makes things like this happen.

Have county actually managed to flog the 1,000 or so tickets we sent yet?

40 replies by Monday lunchtime... :err:

No idea re Stead and Hemmings - would hope at least one will make it. Dunno about sales either, seen a few say they aren't bothering but Ardley seems to have made a decent first impression and persuaded a few to go and get behind him in his first league game, so we'll see.

Anyway, may the best team (probably Stags) win. At least Ardley will have had 10 days to look at the players and assess our strengths (ha) and weaknesses. Silk purse and sow's ear and all that, but hopefully he will try to pack the midfield, keep Mansfield's wingers quiet, and attempt to nick one on the break or from a set-piece.

I'm expecting a bit of a siege though to be honest - who are the Stags' star men so far this season?

It's the midfield that has ticked for us so well this season, if you can find a way of keeping Mellis, Bishop and CJ Hamilton quiet, you'll be in within a shout - if you don't cut out passes to the wingers, don't have pacey midfielders yourself, it could be a long afternoon.

Having conceded 5 in the 9 home games to date (2 of them to Exeter) we don't tend to "get hit on the break" so to speak.

We concede lots as everyone knows ! Mansfield at home don’t concede , don’t lose . So my money is going on a home win by 2 or more goals

That’ll be due to a combination of not winning at Field Mill for over 13 years ! Plus the last 3 times we’ve been hammered . Add to that we have won just once in our ten away league outings this season ! And finally we are 91st out of 92 league clubs !!!

Combine all that and it’s hardly a surprise Adam, I know a fair few Stags fans read NCM on a regular basis you will see that unsurprisingly almost everyone is expecting our annual defeat at Mansfield and many predicting a hammering !

Poor effort if you don’t sell out a game that’s 15 miles down the road, Terrible form or not

When you take into account our form in the league this year, our propensity to sack managers and our record at field mill, we were never going to sell out

I’m sorry but surely at least one county fan on here can come and just say it how it is, taking in to account the form etc (valid points) it’s still piss poor not to sell out.

I’m admitting nothing ! Especially after we’ve had Mansfield fans predicting a draw and one even a defeat ! Pathetic

It would be pathetic on the highest level, no ifs, no buts.
