tbh I am more interested on what this is all about. Last week he opened here this "Stevencc enough is enough" Thread with a vote for banning steven, which was very weird for me that one member initiated a vote to ban another member. Although I thought that was only a joke thread I voted against the ban only to learn that Non-UK are not allowed to vote (as he stated right after my post). At that point I thought this thread isn't to taken seriously. But after it was clear that the majority voted against a ban he came with his "retirement" on Friday. And I really have no clue why? But I am only a member for 7 weeks now and I don't know what happened (in the shoutbox? I don't have it activated).

I think the problem probably with myself and Dirk is that due to us being new on here we don't know how the mainstays on here operate. Tbh, if I had been on longer and was aware of the 'humour' levels I would have ripped the fucking pish out of him and the thread....

Normally I am a big fan of the british (black) humour and, as I wrote, I haven't taken the thread seriously, at first. But it seems that he hadn't humour in mind when he opened the stevencc-thread. But maybe he's gone now...with a smile

Would it perhaps be a nice touch to name the 'other sports' section after him?

Martino was a real renaissance man when it came to sport, and never more when it came to 'other sports'. Bike racing, American Football, you name it, Martino followed it. I didn't agree with the things he said, but he was always ready with an opinion, and he very much made that area of the forum his own. Without him, I venture there wouldn't even be a call for it.

This would be an appropriate gesture in my opinion. Please like this post to show you agree/disagree.

It's what he would have wanted and I support it.

And, I add, if I can forgive Carel and be prepared to back this final gesture towards his lingering memory after his much publicised campaign of hatred against me - which backfired horribly, I have to question the state of mind of someone who would piss in the face of such a touching act.

Sorry for getting a little emotional but that's just how I feel.
