Hearing from a friend that follows Mansfield fans were asked to remove any stone island clothing before entering Field Mill last night. Thought this cannot possibly be true but it seems after a quick browse on their forum there is some truth in this.

The scary thing here is not only is everyone who wears this is being labelled but where is the line drawn? Do they ban adidas trainers next? Plenty of fans wear such items without causing trouble. Judging people due to wearing an item clothing is dangerous to say the least. This could set a very dangerous sign of increasing stewards powers and may affect lots of other clubs supporters heading there on an awayday.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Someone had to take their cap off because it looked like they had something under it... that was it.

People also took large umbrellas but they were taken off people.

If it's the same lad I saw at Crewe Saturday I completely see where the steward was coming from at one point I swear it was levitating :pmsl:

They can ban Adidas trainers if they want to, as the only Adidas I've got are a couple of running shoes. But touch my Reebok classic trainers and I'll get mad.

No Stone Island gear!? :bl:

I'm fucked on Saturday then...

Might have to dust off me old burberry gear, or grab some albam stuff.

I simply couldn't go to a match at Mansfield without my Jimmy Choo's, daaarrrrrrrrlings. It's just not going to happen. Well, unless I get a pair of Louis Vuitton for my birthday (only a couple of weeks away now, gents. Hint, hint...)

Walter Steiger will do at a pinch but please, no Alexander McQueen.

Perhaps when you get to the PL, it would be more appropriate?

I'd ban Stone Island stuff too, simply for it being Stone Island!

Didn't football grounds and bars used to take a similar approach to Doc Martens?

Until it's confirmed by the club I'd probably err on the side of there being nothing in this as if they were to ban an item of clothing they'd presumably have to say so. Right now it sounds like someone being asked to remove a suspicious looking hat, getting the 'ump and then telling his mates they wouldn't let Stone Island clothes in.

It's a well known fact in Luton that Cambridge fans have spikes in their trainers..to give them a better start when running away .....:fl:

Yes they did. I remember loads of times back in the late 60's early 70's DM's & Monkey boots were off limits. Not forgetting the filed down brollies.
