I thought so too. Always fun getting ripped a new one at home to end the season in style.
You’re lucky it was only 3-0, had we actually needed to win we would have won by a lot more, probably 8-0 or something..... :2thumb:

Back after a long weekend away taking in the game. A great way to finish the season and all in all a very relaxed friendly day all round. The police I spoke to in Nailsworth were very friendly as well as the few FGR fans I spoke to.

A great way to end the season and a great hat-trick from JJ Hooper (who proved there is a decent player in there somewhere). McKeown made a great save in the first half to keep the game goalless and if that is his last game for us then he leaves with my best wishes as he's been a great servant for us over the last 7 years (I think), apart from his little blip when he spat his dummy out last season when Dean Henderson was playing.

Hooper's 3rd even brought applause from the FGR fans and I hope the young kid who ran around the pitch at half time managed to raise plenty of money for his little brother.

I said after the first couple of games when Jolley took over that unfortunately "you can't polish a turd" but he's certainly made a bloody good job of it and deserves massive credit for turning our season around.

One thing that did puzzle me is that during the first half every now and again (it must have been 4 or 5 times) the FGR fans would just applaud for a minute. I know that happens sometimes as a one off but it seemed to be at least 4 times that it happened.

Just a final word on Gavin Gunning, by all means you can gob off and slag off your old team but you need to back it up on the pitch. Thank God he was wearing an FGR shirt rather than a GTFC one on Saturday.
On the highlights it looked like the FGR fans were applauding Hooper’s second goal too I think?

We were applauding after 2 minutes for Dale Bennett and Sam Russell after 23 minutes. Two club legends. Both let go without us fans being given the chance to show them appreciation. So we thought we'd sort something ourselves.

There was also a few protests from some of the South Stand during the first half about the club banning fans after the trouble in Cheltenham, hence the sushing of people trying to start chants the "Fuck Forest Green" chants, and the occassional bits of anti-regime stuff.

I wouldn’t be against signing either of those two. Both very good whenever we played them in the past.

Attendance of 3,880 at game might be small beer to some clubs but it is the biggest ever attendance for a league match at TNL.

Received a FGR supporters Club newsletter last night.
Thought I'd copy a small self explanatory paragraph to offer my own thanks to the Grimsby supporter who donated some of his winning towards the small boys selected charity.

"Rovers Raffle - Grimsby 5th May - Bumper Prizes

End of season bumper prizes produced record ticket sales.

£300 ticket was won by a Grimsby fan who very kindly donated £20 to the lad - Kobe Uppington - who did the sponsorship run round the ground .

Money raised from the raffle goes towards subsidising away travel, FGR Ladies & Youth teams & improvements at TNL. "

I thought it must have been as I was 10 out and the bloke selling the tickets was at the beer tent by the away end selling quite a few.

One of the people who organises the draw sits near me, apparently it isn't the first time this season that the biggest prize has been won by an away fan. Moral of the story, if you are an away fan buy a ticket in our half-time draw...on the law of averages you might win...if you don't, you are making a nice contribution to our ladies team and funding the supporters coach to get our fans to your place when we play you...everyone wins!
