FGR v Tranmere Rovers: 25th Sep

Terrific atmosphere at TNL - both sets of fans were cheering on their own team.
Funny at times when 'C'mon Rovers' was called out by both Tranmere and FG supporters.
And it is not often when both sets of fans are in full cry as happened at 60 minute: Tranmere goalkeeper makes an absolutely stonking save, kicks ball upfield and within seconds his team are seriously threatening FGR goalkeeper.
Both sets of fans had a drummer - brilliant.

Not a hard or dirty game by any means so number of cards handed out not true reflection of play.

Drums are so annoying, Mansfield have one too. Poor show if anyone needs a drum to create an atmosphere

Yeah I have to agree with this. Drums are like goal music, just really not needed.

Just got round to watching extended highlights of match [yesterday spend most of day in pub watching & celebrating Lewis Hamilton's 100th Grand Prix victory] and must say that this game will almost certainly be both clubs most entertaining goalless draw of season.
In fact it will probably be far more entertaining than some wins.
Clear that both team had chances but were against top opposition defences: Tranmere best in League while FGR have not conceded during month.

Agree totally, about the game and not the motor racing and pub bit. It was a really good game, despite lacking any goals, and I thought the atmosphere was cracking too...surprisingly noisy considering how many were in attendance. Without digging back through records, to confirm, I'm pretty sure in previous seasons we would have had around 3000 for a game against the likes of Tranmere, Saturday was well short of that figure.

I wonder if we will see crowds drop further, as they undoubtedly have this season in part due to COVID, if the fuel supply issues persist...I don't think many will be keen to use valuable fuel trekking half way across, or up and down, the country to watch their team play. Our first test of this will be on Saturday, Carlisle away, which for most will be something like a 500 mile return trip...for me that would be almost a tank of fuel if I went by car.

Not sure about National League days, but (excluding the play-off semi-final, which was >4,000), the only previous League Two game at which we hosted Tranmere was on a Tuesday night, so had an even lower attendance than this time.

I'd expect attendance to pick up a bit soon (our home support is really not down much on 2019/20), so long as there is no big rise in COVID infections. I suppose we'll see at the Swindon game - that should be one of the biggest turn-outs of the year, if not the biggest. Problems with our website selling tickets can't be helping matters either.
