It's 60-80 year old men being corrupt just because they can get away with it. There's something really evil about that.

This is news that everyone can enjoy. I am loving it.

The whole organisation is going to be tainted, it'll need a total overhaul or even shutting down. Sponsors might look the other way at human rights violations, but they'll go nowhere near an organisation being directly involved with multiple criminal activities.

I imagine him and his crones subjecting very young girls to bunga bunga parties. Young boys too.

Fifa should be invited to the British government, or the BBC (and I don't mean Lexington Steel)

The sad thing is you can already see Blatter squirming his way out of this. He sums up everything that is wrong with modern football.

It takes some kind of next level of corruption to make the FA and the Premiership look legitimate...

Double edged sword for blatter this week in my view.

In a way I hope he does go on to have the election and win by a landslide of love from his colleagues as that could finish Fifa off.

If they went ahead, then he won by some ridiculous landslide which looks suspicious, I can see fifa losing their sponsors but most of all UEFA and Fifa is nothing without UEFA. you call it a world sport, but Europe has the main teams the main leagues and most of the main National sides..........if that ditched Fifa and broke off it could finish them.

of course my worry at losing Fifa is what would replace them as it'd be even more big club, self interest based than the current lot.

Can you imagine if Russia had the World Cup taken away from them and someone else had to step in last minute, say, the US, to host it?!* The temperature could get very cold, very fast.

*Not that I can see that happening.

Not an agenda against Russia, but America have an agenda to run as much as they possibly can for their own ends.

It does raise one interesting question, which some on here may well know the answer to.

Why is it the FBI leading this investigation? I thought the FBI's remit was to deal with federal crime within the US, yet as far as I'm aware this isn't a federal issue, so why the FBI?

I think their initial angle is based upon the actions of CONCACAF which would have included potential crimes on American soil. Plus a lot of the money was flowing through US banks.

Not possible.

Reform can only be a positive thing the way I see it, the whole world is now watching football's governing bodies. There will be less corruption at the very least, I assume.

Jack Warner...you have to admire the cajones on the c***.

Apologies for the vivid imagery that may invoke (not really sorry).

Interesting reports about Russia massing infantry and armour on their side of the border in Ukraine.

As for Prince Ali, his record is quite positive, and he has a long experience of football governance.

There is a very good chance Russia and Qatar will have it taken away. If the voting process is found to be rigged, which it most likely will be, the whole process will be deemed a sham. This will make the elections void and the process will have to restart. In that situation I find it hard for those two countries to be reelected under the regime of an overhauled FIFA or new governing body.

Some of these quotes from Blatter now are very similar to ones he uttered four years ago.

Going to be a rocky few months for Mr Blatter me thinks. Nothing I would like more for him to be exposed and the WC taken away from Qatar in particular, as much as it would send the Russians nuts I think they are more likely to keep hold of it.
