We slit our own wrists against Maidenhead when we played a flat back four, go in with our regular formation we'll beat them.

No score bore draw with Torquay. I guess they were saving their legs for their proper game next week, but they didn't look at all special, kind of on a par with Eastleigh the other night. I see they've now gone 4 without a win, that would be somewhat worrying for them.
Not really sure what today's line up was meant to achieve to be honest, we played a centre half up front with three strikers on the bench :dk:

Jerry how concerned are you that Torbaydos are stalling a bit? The injuries have hurt you a lot and in the last few games you have not looked to score much. I also worry about when you play Randell left or right midfield, the ball seems to just ping over his head. I felt early season you looked best when Randell was in the middle of the park - his passing is top notch. I realise that injuries was the reason why he has moved around, but when he in the centre you seem to play better.

Couldn't agree more, Randell was outstanding in the first half of the season in the middle. In fairness he's still been decent on the right, he's got a quality cross in his locker but we definitely miss him alongside Hall.

Word on the street is the reason for the centre half up front today was that it was to replicate the big man up front model we use when Danny Wright is available. Johnson is thinking that Wright will be back for the semi (it's another 2 weeks away) so wanted to get the team back playing to his strengths.

We were the best side in the league when Wright and Whitfield were both fit (Whitfield's return would allow Randell to move back inside) so with them both rumoured to be returning in a fortnight I'm confident we'll give anyone a game.

The rumour mill also suggests that this will be Johnson's final two (hopefully) games in management so he will definitely want to go out on a high before he retires.

It just seems when he is out right the ball is hoofed over his head. How is Whitfield? He looked head and shoulders you best player when came on as a sub recently. And then he is not even on the bench the next game which sounds worrying. Given that Cameron is also coming back from injury would it have not made more sense to play him in his normal position rather than up front? I really hope you do it, be good to see you back.

Yes it would have made more sense to me but I'll bow to Johnson's experience. Apparently Cameron was a striker all through his youth career so he's played the rolle before.

We never get any injury info from the club so no official word on Whitfield but with another 2 weeks I'm hoping he'll be back on the bench at least, especially if we end up playing Chesterfield as we'll then be missing Boden as an attacking option.

Kimpioka was off playing for Sweden under 21's this week but he should be back to add a bit of pace (albeit with a distinct lack of direction at times) to the front line.

We're at home but the local SAG is so strict that it's hard to create any kind of atmosphere (not that there's ever that much of one at Plainmoor). Everyone has to stand in a randomly designated spot so the singers will be spread out around the ground and the stewards are constantly up telling people off if they don't have a mask on. I've seen plenty of other games highlights recently where nobody wears a mask at all.

I was surprised that we only lost 1-0 through a lucky deflection and were actually the better team today, given the shit we're going through and how few players we have.

BT Sports talking about Dagenham as if they are some little club punching above their weight. The fact they haven't made the play offs with the squad they have is unbelievable.

Lol, mummy will tuck you into bed.

The best result we could have hoped for. Keates out, the dream scenario.

Wrexham today's big losers, you fellas must feel sick.
Couldn't care less really seeing as we'd have lost straight away in the playoff anyway. So long as Keates is gone we can finally move on.

That's Keates done now, surely? Hasn't Mellon left Dundee?

Mellon ticks every box that we are after. Experience of having money and what's more, winning with it. 2 promotions from this hellhole as well as having good league experience. We should be offering whatever it takes to get him, he'd be my number one target.

I see him probably going back to Tranmere though.

Hopefully.

There is some random bollocks thinking that Eddie Howe is somehow going to come in but that's pie in the sky

I think a lot of people would love Mellon here. We wanted the Cowleys but their signed up for Portsmouth now

Personally I would like us to take a punt on the Connahs Quay manager Andy Morrison. He is a quirky one and would prob he great for the documentary!

Well that’s us done then, strange season for us completely looked the part the last 3-4 months but awful relegation fodder for the first portion.

Good luck to all of the teams in the play offs, can’t see past Pools or Stockport but you never know and please don’t let Bromley go up!!!

Have a great summer everyone, never give up the dream as next season it could be your team!

You don't need to be taking punts now, you need to start acting like a decent sized NL Club with a bit of money behind them and go out and get whoever you want.

What’s with the Bromley bigging-up ? Let ‘em know you’re not keen to play them will only make them strut around like the cocks they are.
Every team has a boagy & they’re ours unfortunately.
We battered them up here, but still only managed a 0-0 draw.
Ask any Pools fan, they’re team we didn’t want.
Hopefully we can finally beat the snidey twats on Saturday.

Glad our gaffer is signed on for 2 more years. Given Wrexham might be on the hunt shortly.

If you think the football under Keates is bad, you're not going to take to Andy Morrison's style very well!

Only manager I could possibly see us going after is Challinor if he doesn't go to Tranmere. Our sights will probably be set higher than the rest.

Keates will probably still pick up a National North side once he's given the boot, I would expect some news this week.

You can have him if he takes us up. That I could stomach. Any other scenario then there will be serious Brotherhood beef.

Fair comment. Although weren't the Cowleys a bit of a punt for you guys?
