A dead rubber to end the season at home to Orient. Expect this to be the last Shrewsbury game for a number of the squad. Imagine the out of contract big earners from Cotterill's time will be let go, along with some of the cheap gambles from last summer that Hurst doesn't rate. Should hopefully see a more balanced squad next season.

To the game, want to see some excitement for a change, but more likely to see a 0-0 or 1-1

Dont worry, its only us that gifts Vale 3 points at the end of the season and we have already obliged
Mentally in the last 2 seasons we’ve only won 5 games combined after Jan 1st… two of them against you!

So 40% of our wins in 2 years between Jan 2nd to End of season.

Think there's something in that, we had that last year. Completely resigned to it but without the final nail ever quite going in. keeping alive but never having it in your hands until suddenly it's the last day.

Feel a lot worse about tomorrow than I did last year, even though, objectively that's mental.

Swear down, if Vale turn up tomorrow and fight their way out of a soap bubble, half of this messageboard are going to have questions to answer!
If we fight our way to victory tomorrow our squad will have a lot to answer for!

Only Garrity and maybe Chislett show any, Garrity was the only one in tears last weekend and stayed out with the fans bar Smith and he seemed mega pumped up in the pre match presser to put a performance on but unfortunately we only have one Ben Garrity so the other 10 will make it pointless.

Be interesting to see who starts as may give some hints to if any are being listed or paid off.

It was to thank you for the 3-1 win in L2. The most important Vale/Gas clash (for us)

We will let you have that one as it all worked out in the end and those Swindon 2nd leg and Wembley visit will live forever in the memory!

Your “Arblaster” was a class act that day, that striker looked mint who came on and got the third… hope we sign him one day!

Yeah that was a good end of the season for both of us, was made up for Darrell - im in two minds this time as success for him today will also mean success for the snake too.....but Chelts are local so that swings it for me.
Both our cheat codes doing well at the top level, including Quansah for Liverpool but he was awful for us.
Loft needs someone to fire 100 balls a day at him in training, never seen a pro footballer with so little ball control. For us his 2nd touch was usually giving away a foul. We did warn you though!

It was Flickers who chased him! Madness. Ellis was much better but what do we fans know.

We’ve made a few changes, Loft, Sang and Grant out the squad all together.

Uche and Dipepa up front could be fun, three youth players start and a few on the bench including Karl Agnero who I am unaware off.

The signing we made for the last four games doesn’t even make an appearance…

Happy with that largely as should see some
Effort.

Ojo on the bench is very telling.

Six changes for us with various key players missing.

Lincoln, you've got no excuse for not winning this one!

Nerves are kicking in now. Praying two of Exeter , Portsmouth or Northampton can get a point. That's if we win.

Would like to thank Deklan Wynne for a storied Vale career - 0 apps 0 goals.

Hopefully Ojo benched means he’s off somewhere and Loft not in the squad means there’s a deal lined up with the Dog & Duck after the game.

Couldn’t care less about the game other than hope any of our academy lads get a good showing.

The Wynne one is strange. I thought all free agents had to sign by the end Thursday of march?

We’ve got Rennett and Andrew back fit so the defence looks a bit more sensible than on Tuesday. Lyle Taylor out of the squad altogether thankfully. We look a little light in centre midfield in my opinion but I think that side is good enough to get the result we need today.

Stupid mistake from Sweeney for the first. Offside in the build up to the penalty.

Surprisingly strong line up. Hurst looking to end the season on a win.
Hurst maybe looking for a win but most of this lot will be looking for a new club.
Looks obvious to me that those who are being released have already been told, some poor performances out there

Dull game, neither side having any quality especially in the final third.

Their striker is probably lucky to escape with a yellow for an elbow but other than that and a chuckle at one of their lads trying to start with Uche there’s not been much to talk about.

Shorrock is having a good game against Darby who is a decent player.

Well we came back from two down at Vale but this will be a bit trickier. Still think some early subs and we can get something going.
Oxford players trying to get Aimson sent off, never nice to see

Christ alive I won't be sad not to ever see most of this lot in the quarters again. Had high hopes of Brown and Wilson helping us push top half this season yet both have been friggin awful

That’s the worst half of football from 2 sides I’ve seen all season. Ref is totally card happy, though Weir should have been sent off for second yellow as half time whistle blew, couldn’t get off the pitch fast enough!! Awful refereeing. We surely must be better second half, but things going nicely our way elsewhere.

Sends Weir off and that improves us! Really let down of a signing that. Never going to replace Oli but he’s been awful.

We had him on his very first loan spell and he was excellent but since then he’s had more clubs than Tiger Woods and just isn’t the same player. Shame, we thought he looked a real prospect.

That miss by Uche is one of the worst I’ve seen. It was virtually on a plate for him and his 50p shaped head managed to fuck it up. Just as well nothing on this game.

Now the ref gives us a foul a foot outside the area for a foul that was at least a yard inside…
