Plymouths form of 9 point in 8 games sees them drop into the playoffs in the form table.

For the first time the points needed for third place increases in the season long table. Plymouth's 8 game form could see them within 2 points of dropping out of the playoffs!

By my calculations Northampton are now guaranteed a play off place and everyone above Barnet is safe from relegation.

Bristol RoVers' form sees them jump into second on the form table but our 8 point gap to Accrington could be described as comfortable...!

Lutons form of 18 points in the last 8 games is still not quite enough to see them into the play offs.

I have included the current points tally and the maximum possible points tally in this updated table.

This shows that Northampton are guaranteed a play off place this season. Barnet are now safe from relegation. As with the real table the automatic promotion places are looking a lot tighter after the Easter weekend fixtures.

Northampton's draw means they will have to wait till their Bristol Rovers game next weekend to secure promotion. With Bristol Rovers scoring 21 points in their last 8 games they may have to wait a week longer. Exeter sit 2nd in the form table on 18 points and if they can continue this they would comfortably make the Playoffs!
Portsmouth look set to miss our on 3rd despite their 17 points in 8 games.
Wycombe's 9 points is not enough to keep them in the play off positions in the form table.

Northamptons draw is enough to win them promotion as other games work in their favour. All except Oxford who force them to wait another game to guarantee they win the league. Wimbledon fans may disagree but I still expect Exeter to make the play offs as they picked another crucial win and remain second in the form table.

For the first time Dagenhams 'form' sees them leap frog York before the end of the season. Dagenham have 8 points from their last 8 games which is 1 point better than Plymouth!

Thing is that run of form has to end some point. They've arguably started too early.

I presume you are talking about Exeter. Each season there is a team that come screaming from nowhere into the playoffs. Exeter were predicted mid table obscurity at the start of this thread.

In my opinion they play Northampton at the ideal time, when they are already promoted and I fancy Bristol Rovers' tails to be down by the time they play them...

h Northampton
h Mansfield
@ Bristol Rovers
h Morecambe
@Luton

I think Portsmouth will hold the key to who gets promoted as they play Wimbledon and Wycombe in the run in.

Nah, Accrington are my picks unless they get up automatically. Then Rovers unless they do. Pompey aren't as good as either of those.

Anyway, we're taking that 7th spot. Just to be clear. :-)

Absolutely destroyed rover's at Fratton not long ago and have already beaten both teams mentioned twice this season

Largely irrelevant. Norwich lost both league games v Middlesbrough last season (including one of them 4-0) then beat them in the play off final comfortably. Higher placed teams were generally stronger last season.

Rovers have Dagenham, York and Stevenage in last four games plus Yeovil at home. Our game that looks the hardest is Exeter at home. We will come away from rescuing a point late yesterday at Northampton full of confidence and with 90% of the squad experiencing getting over the line at the business end of last season it looks good. Still think we will get automatic! Fingers crossed!!!

Have to agree that Accrington or the Gas would be my choice for play-off winners, with the other getting automatic. In January, I thought that Plymouth would fade and go up through the play-offs - provided they could get their best team on the pitch 2 or 3 times. I'm now thinking the mojo has gone and they'll miss out again.

Although I've been firmly mid-table relaxed since Feb, I can certainly see us winning 3 of our last 5 (as well as see us losing 3) so that could put us on the 69/70 points that I guessed we'd reach. The only reason that we have a chance of travelling with something to play for in the coming weeks is the consistent inconsistency of Wimbledon/Carlisle and the modest resources of Wycombe. Exeter look better placed to cash in on that than we do but it'll add a bit of spice to the run in if we can turn over Carlisle (who'll be looking for a win) on Saturday.

The Gas will take 3rd. Going on what I've seen, they are stronger than Plymouth but I have my doubts on whether they're better than Pompey, because according to a good friend of mine who has watched Pompey loads this year, on their day they can compete with L1 clubs easily. While I admire Stanley a lot for the side they've built, I don' think they'll make top 3. Thing is it's hard to rate other sides as we only get to see them once or twice( if one goes to away games).

Top 3 - Cobblers, Oxford and Rovers
Play offs - Pompey, Stanley, Plymouth and Wycombe.

Actually, to hell with Wycombe, 7th is ours :fing:

I reckon Bristol Rovers will get that final automatic spot, and I'd fancy Pompey to win the playoffs.

I think our chance of getting into the playoffs is slim now, have to beat Cambridge next week but I can't see that happening.

Just hope one of us wins to keep it interesting. After all, you are my second/third team this season.

AFC Wimbledon now top the form table with Accrington in second. Accrington look to be securing second place with their form and Wimbledon look set to make it comfortable to the play offs.

I have had to show decimal places to explain why Bristol Rovers are above us on 82 points in the form table.

Meanwhile Dagenham are relegated and York need to win all their games and hope Newport lose all theirs to save themselves from relegation.
