Can we get more player stats please? Such as tackles made/won, I'd like to see if Hessenthaler is as good as I think he is.

Also passes completed, amount of running etc..

Maybe some for the worst players too like how often do they give the ball away or foul etc.

Leave it with me

I like how we're proving how you don't have to stop opposition having chances or have any shots yourself to do well. It's all about keeping possession.

Random stat - the last 16 league games that we've won, we've done so with a clean sheet. So basically, if we let a goal in we won't win.

Best team in the division confirmed!

Mike Jones, Christie Elliot and Byron Webster all in the top five in the division for accurate passes (presumably there's a requirement for how many passes have to have been made or you get subs who have made two or three passes in one brief cameo and got them all right, but I don't know what it is)

The problem is these are all defensive players. Not saying they can't pass when under pressure but a lot of the passes they make will be under little pressure from the opposition. When they do misplace a pass it inevitably lets the opposition in on goal so it's all very well having defenders who pass it about a lot, you're still taking a big risk by asking them to do so much passing.

Ironic that the picture they've used comes from your game at our place last season. Tuesdays game should be an accurate passing EXHIBITION. Having shots at goal and crosses is an outdated tactic.

We should just shake hands on a draw before the game and free ourselves up to concentrate wholly on getting those pinpoint passes between our back line down to a fine T. Just don't send any of your players into our half, you'll fuck it up for us.

We'll just be glad to not play a team that presses us for once, the likes of Port Vale and Newport played havoc with our attempts at passing it around at the back, the annoying fuckers.

If anything what you'll get from us is appreciative observation, and maybe a suggestion we exchange notes at half time on how to pass the ball with style.

This whole division is a piss take. You're not playing the likes of Charlton and Portsmouth any more, you're playing clubs whose history is so tinpot that taking the piss is the only pleasure we have left. You'll not find any sky sports totalisers down here

Get used to it. You're one of us now.

Find this table very interesting. This is what the table would look like if games were won by expected goals rather than actual goals. Obviously means nothing in reality but it's interesting to see what the table looks like. Wonder if FGR will be able to keep up doing well without creating much. Credit to https://experimental361.com for the table.

I usually discount XG as utter bollocks for saddos but this time it really seems to tell the true story.

No it doesn't. According to XG we're shit at both ends, the worst team in the league, and yet in reality we're in the top 3. Shows XG means fuck all. Either that or we're totally fluking it.

There has only been 8 games, wait till 46 games and if you still have the same xG and are in the top 3 you can say it means fuck all. In reality with that xG after game 46 I predict you won't be in the top half.

In Forest Green's defence, I have just had a look on Experimental 361 and they are miles ahead in the XSP table.

Scratching my head at the moment over who are the truly bad teams in this division. I've not seen anyone out of the teams we've played (and having to guess a bit with the ones I've only heard on the radio) who seems bad enough to get sucked into a relegation scrap; and that includes both Scunthorpe and Stevenage.

We're poor ourselves of course but nowhere near as bad as we were in our first season down here, where we ended up surviving with games to spare. Salford probably the worst of the ones I've seen but even they just looked like a lower-mid table side at worst.

Usually by now you can pick one or two teams for whom the battle to survive has already begun; for example, Macclesfield last season, or in our season mentioned above where ourselves, Hartlepool, Tranmere and others had already settled in for a long battle against the drop.

Someone has to finish bottom, but potentially with a high points total; and with only one relegation place up for grabs it's difficult to even guess at who'll be fighting over it let alone who will end the season occupying it. Maybe Morecambe's time has finally come, there'll be no car-crash teams to save them from the drop. Struggling teams with a little bit of money to spare in January will feel more confident with only one space to avoid that they can change something and survive.

This is the strongest/most competitive the division has been since our return, in my opinion. No one side looks to be miles ahead, no one team looks to be miles crapper. A fair amount of the lower midtable teams from the past few seasons have appeared to kicked on and improved and bar Mansfield/Scunny/Colchester, all the teams you'd expect to be doing well are. Those three will kick into gear at some point though, I think. It's a real shame that there's only one team going down as the relegation scrap could have been quality this year.

The only other guess I could make is Stevenage. They didn't sound at all bad on Saturday, but they are one of the smaller budgets in the division and having blinked early and replaced their manager, it could come back to bite them.

They've had 3 first choice defenders out all season according to D3D4, so that could be a factor perhaps? I think the off field antics at Oldham could be contribute to them struggling as the season goes on. They also seem to have had massive problems holding onto leads since dropping down. Likewise, I fear for Morecambe but if anyone is used to pulling it out the bag, it's definitely them.

Looks open so far, some of the fancied teams have started slowly, some of the expected drop candidates such as Macc Town and Cambridge have started well.

Morecambe seem to be struggling a bit lately and they've took a few pastings in recent weeks so maybe they are the most likely, assuming 1 goes down and Bury don't join League Two.

Walsall seem a bit precarious too, not won since the opening weekend.

We've had a tough run of fixtures but so far Salford looked by far the worst side we've played, Plymouth looked decent in spells but toothless but we beat Argyle and drew Salford! Otherwise everyone else has looked average enough, including us so could be fairly open. Even Grimsby hitting five past us didn't look amazing, (was helped by some horror defending tbf)!
