So, with the fixtures for the new season out in just over a week, what would your preferences be for the key dates? Over the years a recurring theme on these sorts of threads is a preference for Blackpool away on a Bank Holiday, so with Fleetwood also in the league alongside them there's double the opportunity for a seedy weekend on the big dipper!

For me:

Opening day - Home to someone relatively WABLO - maybe Walsall.
Boxing day - Charlton at home
Final day - Portsmouth away

Any other particular games you want at certain times:

Northampton/Milton Keynes away over Easter, so I can get away from the inlaws during our annual visit! Also would like Peterborough away to be on a saturday that I can make - I've never been, and it always seems to be on a tuesday or a weekend I'm busy.

Oldham away WILL be in January.

Not what I want, but what will happen:
Opening Day - St Petersbog at home, as usual
Boxing day - Postponed due to waterlogged pitch
Final Day - Gillingham (away)

We are usually away first day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and last day so any change to that would be welcome

We will probably have to play on a random Tuesday due to Police advice

We'll only play midweek if the computer brings out that fixture. SYP might move it to a 12 o'clock kick off though but i've never know em to move a weekend to midweek fixture, well hopefully they don't anyways.

Both clubs and the police can make requests to the FA prior to the fixtures being done, we don't play at home first fixture so as to ensure we are away on Leger day, I know the club request it.

I'm pretty sure the police ask the football league not to schedule local games on the first day of the season. We're definitely due a home game first so I'll go with someone like Gillingham or Shrewsbury. A proper welcome back to League One fixture. Blackpool away in our final away game again would also be most welcome. Hopefully no local or London games on Tuesday nights. Like two years ago the best time to play us will definitely be early on when we're still adjusting to our usual squad overhaul and the new gaffer settles in.

You won't get us at home first game, we have to play our first game of the season at home as it's the Shrewsbury flower show the following week.

We were away first and home last in the season gone, so I assume it will be the opposite.

Hoping for someone a bit rubbish at home first up and Blackpool or Donny away last.
Home game first Saturday would suit me. As I am only in London for the first 2 Saturdays of the season. Be a long way to go and not get to a game.

Opening Day - Oldham A (better chance of not freezing my ass off)
Boxing Day and New Year Day - Local H or if A then Donny, Bradford or Rovrum and not having to cross the Pennines.
Final Day - Oldham A (if not the Opening Day) or Bottom of the league (if not us) at H

Blackpool away in August and Southend next April. Two weekenders there.
We had better be in a good position come the end of March as April is a real tough month - Blackburn, Wigan, Doncaster, Southend and Scunthorpe. Gulp.

Away at Charlton. Fair to say I won't be going.

Absolutely delighted with ours.

Plymouth first away game, Portsmouth away at the end of April and Bristol Rovers away on a Saturday in April. The three best away days have fallen perfectly.

Not worked out too badly for us. Donny away first up isn't over-exciting but I've not been there so it's a good excuse for doing so. Oxford and Wimbledon at home, plus Charlton away are our 3 Christmas/New Year games. Over easter we have a trip to Southend to look forward to, and we end at home to Plymouth. Blackpool away on a tuesday just before Christmas is a bit shit, with Fleetwood away on the saturday two days before Christmas itself likely to have quite a minimal away following. .

Worst fixture list for some time.

Peterborough away first game not very attractive - though good for London area fans.
Wigan and Blackburn away on Tuesday nights - and then away on the Saturdays following.
Just the 460 mile round trip to Milton Keynes on boxing day.
Blackpool away end of December how grim.
Gillingham away last day.

Due to having friends in Walsall and Bury I was looking forward to going there this year. Both away games fall within 2 weeks of eachother - the 2 weeks I'm on holday. Feckin typical.

I know we're at a disadvantage being so far from everyone but what were they thinking? Takes the piss!

Happy with that. Home on all the important days. Rochdale at home first game, Wimbledon at home boxing day, Peterborough at home last game of the season!

Our fixtures are shite. I've got to spend my boxing day in Milton Keynes. Milton bloody Keynes. Blackburn and Wigan both away on Tuesday nights, doubt I can do either. Gillingham away on the final day is a trek too.

Very difficult first month against Peterborough, Charlton, Southend and Scunthorpe. 4 sides I'd expect to be up there.

Can't complain over here. Oldham and Shrewsbury both early on while it's still hot. Blackpool away on Saturday and the worst away of the season on a Tuesday night (Gillingham). Only downside is that as usual one of our London aways is a midweek (Charlton). Doncaster away last game, they always batter us there so hopefully there's nothing on the line, good away allocation as well. Can't see us winning our first game, tough one away at MK. At least it won't hit me they we're back in League One at their palace of a stadium. Any Plymouth fans making their way to ours on a midweek have my upmost respect.

We also have a home game on New Years Day after being in Blackpool on December 30th. So the 1 between will be travelling, no training, no prep. At that time of year as well. FL need to hang their heads in shame.
