So what you're saying is that the Premier League has a very strong brand, which is pretty much what I said, yet you framed it as disagreeing with me.
People that run big businesses see the importance of brands.
The point is that the Premier League's brand is strong because it is a strong league and a simple 'does what it says on the tin' brand, not something cooked up through holding focus groups and desperately trying to coat-tail whatever the latest trends are on social media... which is what the FL will get if it tries to rebrand (and indeed what it already got last time it rebranded)... Big businesses have strong brands... struggling businesses rebrand every few years thinking that a new trendy name will magically fix everything.
The Football League's place in the football pantheon is set in stone, it's the three divisions beneath the Premier League... no amount of rebranding is going to change that so better a brand that accepts what it is than some new brand that will supposedly appeal to youngsters, or something like the 'Championship' that tries to disguise the fact that it isn't as prestigious as the Premier League.
