Akanni-Sunday Wasiu was awful, but he managed to score twice before going on to have quite the nomadic career in Poland, Lithuania, Malta, China and now the very exotic Whitehawk. I really wish he was brilliant and could have become a star striker.

Basso was the top don for many a year.

Other mentions to Tamas Vasko, a Hungarian lump of a defender who wasnt great in our box but scored the winner at Burnley in our Championship play off season.

Also Tony Rougier who came on loan in 2004 and seemed to score a ridiculous amount of goals in very few games.

Think you are are confused when Vasko played for us mate. He joined in 1998 the same time as Ion Testimitanu the Moldovan midfielder and Soren Andersen the striker. It was the Benny Lennartsson relegation season.

My all time favourite is Dariusz "Jacki" Dziekanowski who is the most skillfull player I've ever seen in a City shirt.

Ali Gerba.

Not a bad shout SA, but you probably didn't see the leg end that was Michel Pensee-Bilong. Cameroonian international of questionable age that was a beast of a defender and occasionally decided to walk the ball out of defence and take on the entire opposition team.

One for the for the ladies was Julian Horness, a graduate of the French Footballing Academy with long flowing locks and filmstar looks. Great with the ladies, shit with a football.

And finally who could forget our Australian dynamo Nicky Rizzo. As passionate about the club on the terraces as he was on the pitch.

Gotta be Big Mo Konjic for us. Very hit and miss for us but always gave his all.

William Edgenguele was a bit of a cult hero I guess aswell.

No fortunately I was around when they were there.

What about Tore Andre Flo?

His penalty in the Play-Off Semi's was glorious.

The silly thing is:

1) He was brought on specifically to take a penalty...and then missed.
2) Worse penalties than this went in.

Aussie Keeper - Jason Kearton, legend!

Also Julian Baudet. 100% effort, but at the end of the day he was a bit gash.

Jan Fjortoft, didn't score for us until January in our premier league season, but I can't think of an occasion when the supporters gave up on him.
Then also in that team was Luc Nijholt, a Dutch midfielder, no Swindon fan will ever forget the equaliser against Manure at the CG that season, a 35 yard thunderbolt.

Now I'm interested in who you are thinking of?

Seconded.
Best defender I saw in the Championship.
Aye Youl was pure class. Unfortunately the first thing I think of when I hear his name is him giving away a penalty against the lashers and the Hoolahan chipping it in :(

The Good.
Clint Marcelle. 1996-99
Trinidad & Tobago midfielder Marcelle signed from Felgueiras in Portugal when they were relegated from the top flight. Was instrumental in our promotion to the premier league scoring all 9 of his Barnsley goals that season. Played 26 times in the PL before falling out of favour halfway through our first season back in the second tier. Went on the play for an array of lower league and non-league clubs.
Hugo Colace. 2008-2011
Argentinian midfielder Colace signed in 2008 from Newell's Old Boys. The fact he was captain of Argentina U20's for a few games was often brought up in match day programmes during his time with us. Had a slow start but in his second season was voted players player of the year. His contract ran out at the end of that season and he flirted with Crystal Palace before signing on again in the summer of 2010, his last season was forgettable though and he ended up leaving by mutual consent in 2011. Played in Mexico, France and back in Argentina since leaving.
Dennis Souza. 2007-2009
Brazilian defender Souza signed from Charleroi in 2007 and was a key member of our squad that reached the FA cup semi final in 2008. Left to play in Qatar in 2009. Returned to England for an ill fated spell at Doncaster in 2010/11. Currently playing in Greece.
Istvan Ferenczi. 2007-2008
Hungarian striker Big Stan signed in January 2007 along with fellow Hungarian Peter Rajczi. Ever reliable force up front even if his goal scoring record wasn't overly impressive. Though to be fair it was never going to be in a struggling side.
Daniel Bogdanovic. 2009-2010
Maltese striker signed from Lokomotiv Sofia. Similar to Big Stan, left for a poor spell at Sheff Utd before joining Blackpool with loan spells at Rochdale and Notts County thrown in. 16 league goals in 45 games for us, never recaptured that form after leaving and now back playing in Malta.

The Bad.
Goran Lovre. 2010-2012
Serbian attacking midfielder from Groningen. Came with a decent reputation but one of the worst players to pull on the shirt.
Mounir El Haimour. 2008-2010
French-Moroccan midfielder. Played 18 times for us and hasn't played professionally since leaving in 2010.
Jeronimo Neumann. 2010-2011
Argentinian striker/midfielder. Friend of the aforementioned Hugo Colace and pretty sure we only signed him to help lure Colace back. Bounced around in the Argentinian lower leagues for a year or two after leaving us but has since carved himself a decent career out in Australia.

The Ugly.
Miguel Mossto. 2007-2009
Peruvian international striker who we paid nearly half a million for. Went back to Peru homesick in his first season. Returned and had a good few weeks before turning shite. All in all a waste of money. Currently playing back in Peru.

David Seal for City who was an Aussie. He was one of my favorite strikers growing up but I don't think he was actually that good. He scored a few crackers but ended up at Mangotsfield for years.

Agostino is a obvious one too. He went on to play for 1860 Munich for years.

Bogdanovic was good for us, we wanted to keep him but he chose to go back to Malta.

Used to watch seal at mangotsfield when I was younger, me dad told me seals career started going downhill when an injury he had prevented him doing as much training. You could always see he was far too good for the southern league even when he was getting to his mid 30s

The Good
Marcus Hahnemann
. Half a dozen very impressive games on loan from Fulham.
Joe Cooke. From Dominica, I believe, although possibly best known for his spell at Bradford. Had one - very good - season for us. In hindsight, should have been offered the manager's job, but was sold to Wrexham instead.

The Bad.
Morike Sako has already been mentioned a couple of pages ago. He was no better for Dale than for Torquay.

Roland Bergkamp (loan from Brighton) was gash - but was signed by Steve Err, so not much was expected of him. Ditto Pim "50p head" Balkestein. Surely there must be some decent Dutch footballers somewhere?

The Ugly
Katanga Lord N'Diwa. Big lump of a defender loaned from Bolton. Had five minutes as a late sub when we were several-nil up against Mansfield. Told to stay up front, was comically inept and probably should have had a red card for assault and battery - would have done had his victim not been Joe Dimech, who was equally inept and thuggish.

Helio Andre. Young African kid who had a couple of sub appearances. Skilful but lightweight. Last heard of on a Merseyside Police wanted poster o_O

Njazi Kuqi is the worst footballer I've ever seen for us.

Lasted 45 minutes before even Steve Bleasdale realised he's shit. Sent him back to Birmingham and never heard of him again.

Last I heard he was at some Greek football league side. No idea.

Long term gains.
Pretty sure after Charlie Austin left we had a strike force of Vincent Pericard and Thomas Dossevi.

To this day I don't know how we got relegated...:dk:

You think that's bad? Under Westley, we had Chris Beardsley and Anthony Elding up front. With Lee Trundle on the bench!
