Throw the game, go round Manchester on the drink... actually that's probably not a good idea.

So the annual Lee Mills derby is once again upon us, the club showed a lovely game(my first watching us against Vale) earlier. Unfortunately it’ll be nothing like that, a draw wouldn’t be bad to carry on our mini run but we have nothing to lose they do, so just have a go see what happens. First game I’ve looked forward to in a while which shows how starved of any sort of success we’ve been. Should be a decent crowd as well sold 1,500 tickets(nearly the league leaders Tuesday night gate) in 24 hours. Hopefully they’ll be over 16k total.

The mention of Millsy makes me sad. I can trace our decline right back to that moment we sold him to you and then thought it was a good idea to replace him with Peter fuckin Beadle. Regardless should be a competitive game as it always is between us. I believe Barnsley are our most frequent opponents of all time but Bradford must be getting up there .

I can't see anything but a defeat if the last two performances are anything to go by.
Very much feels like players are just going through the motions, nothing to play for and very flat, last two games.

Can see us limping on to the end of the season, fully expecting another defeat here.

We've looked better in Wellens 2 games so far, but we have got to get a win from somewhere and by any means possible soon.

Would expect a bit more squad rotation as he have a period now with alot of games.

I’m of a similar mind set, we’ve a lot more difficult games still to play and will for my money lose more than we win for the remainder.

All joking aside, Covid rates are going through the roof at the moment and i'm sure we are going to soon get back into the stage whereby games start being postponed again.

Why's that the case now though? We've all got to work if we've got it now isolation isn't required?

The theory is that you isolate voluntarily like if your ill with flu but imagine now most have had it so shouldn't rocket like it did Xmas time.

Guess with footballers its how well you are to play the game.

It's a fair question. It's completely different to a footballer catching it, but if I knowingly test for Covid I will self-isolate until I'm clear. (I live close to a lot of elderly people and don't want to kill my neighbours for instance)

I know that the rules are being relaxed and Covid is now being treated like other illnesses/flu, which I think we have to do. I suppose it's a 'duty of care' within the game or something? Tricky one. I really hope we can get through the season without Covid playing a part in helping to decide anything on the pitch.

Based on the performances in our last two home games, I see nothing other than a comfortable Newport win tonight. Maybe not a hammering, but something like a routine 2-0 with the result never in doubt.

The only positive is by the time we play it we might have the chance to send the fat bastard down and finally put Stevenage back where they belong.
That would have been an easy win for you guys tomorrow. Probably needed a confidence booster after the last two games

You’d have thought.

Another game in hand isn’t ideal, and if results go against us tomorrow we could be in bother

Mansfield Stevenage is off what a nightmare.

Stevenage probably have a couple of key players injured, and the fraud Evans has cried the Covid tale.

God, I feel for Stevenage fans, but I do pray that they get relegated, especially now Evans is in charge.

Apparently 8 injured and 7 with covid. Not sure how reliable that is but they've got 29 players registered. Thought the EFL said if you have 14 fit players, one of which needed to be a keeper then you had to play. Farce

Have they got any key players?

Our midfield has been shockingly one paced in the last two games, tonight will be no different.
A nice easy Friday night stroll for County.

He is about as charming as Steve Evans. Why any club would want to employ these awful characters is beyond me

Rules I think have changed a bit, you now need at least 4 players to return a positive covid test now IIRC to get a game called off.

After Arsenal got the NLD called off with just the 1 positive test and a host of injuries/players at AFCON, things got changed.
