I think the Friday night games was at Colchester’s request so they don’t have to pay for an overnight stop over.

Also difficult to sort free tickets out for kids as they are not back at school yet.

I first went to a game at Gander Green Lane (a 4-1 victory over St Albans City in the Diadora Premier) a couple of weeks before Oldham played Manchester United in an FA Cup semifinal at Wembley. My next game at Gander Green Lane will be the first ever Football League game at the stadium, and it’s Oldham who will be visiting.

We do need to get over the awe phase soon. Both ourselves and Oldham will be looking for our first win of the season, so I’m not expecting a classic.

We’ve not made too many changes to the starting XI so far, and I wonder if Saturday would be a good time to try.

Well done on your rise into league status.
Sadly the days of playing man utd have gone, for now lol.
So onto Sutton, there will be a decent away following but it will be a toxic atmosphere more thsn likely, especially if the team dont take the fans minds off the owner protests......
Anyway good luck and well done, enjoy your win on saturday, hope the oldham fans dont ruin your new pitch

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your pending victory against us I fear the worst for us this season can see administration on the horizon. The toxic levels are starting to raise against our owners the sooner they go the better

Looks like Walsall will be my first this season.

Our best performance of the season so far was away so hopefully we turn up Saturday.

Tbh we were much better than colchester and looked decent against bradford, sort the issue down the right hand side and hopefully we will be fine.

We've got 14 fully fit players that had the runaround from Villa last night, Cooper said himself that if he was in Barton's shoes he would be rubbing his hands together.

Barrow 1-3 Bristol Rovers

That’s dedication, i don’t think anyone has EVER looked forward to a game at crawley
:dk:

Don't listen to them Eric.

Friendly supporters bar, nice pub just over the road, decent pub curry ten minutes further away and all it costs is the 3 points you have to leave with us...oh, and a large wedge of cash.

Buy your ticket in advance. The club have started that stupid idea of putting prices up on the day because we dont want to attract any casual fans.

Don’t you worry I’m not. Been to Crawley before on a private coach and when we pulled into the car park beers in hand we were mistaken for the actual Cobblers team and directed to the official coach parking. Stewards were a bit confused when 40 already slightly pissed blokes got off beers in hand.

That pub at the top of the hill opens at 12 doesn’t it? Can’t recall the name but always go in there when visiting.

For what it’s worth Casey I’ve always looked forward to our games with Crawley. That may or may not be to do with the fact we usually win ;)

Trip to Scunthorpe for Rovers, with neither side in great form and not looking likely we'll bolster the squad before this game. Think with the hosts having scored in 3 of their games, we're going to have to find the back of their net to come away with anything. Time to try Ryan Watson in a more forward position as Nevitt is the only one of our current forwards to look like scoring.

Since our last victory (17 games ago), we've scored 5 times. We have one fit striker who joined last week and there's rumours he's one of the two players out due to Covid.

I don't think you have to worry about conceding.

Far as I know it does. I live over the other side of town so don't get in there. It's named the New Moon (Half Moon got refurbished). I used to drink there during my lunch break at school.

We have defended well this season until we concede and then we fall apart. It will most likely be 0-0 at half time, all our games this season have been

We've sold out our allocation for Harrogate away this weekend. Ignore attendance figures as I've been told a few fans are feeling under the weather, but trust me we have sold out.

A surprisingly balanced post there, I was expecting the usual mouth frothing dirge we get from Carlisle.

Can't say we're favourites, it's early days, but yep our home record is recently very good. Think it's 16-2-0 or something. About time, we've never much in our history used the Vic to home advantage. The backing and atmosphere at games is much better now so that probably helps.

We do carry a threat going forward but definitely can be got at defensively. I'm expecting a tight, niggly game as its Carlisles big day out. Talking of which, potential for trouble as others have said. This game brings the bovver boys out from both sides. You probably know how to avoid it, hope you do.
Shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, I am known for being refreshingly balanced.

Not that Micky Mellon doesn’t know what he’s doing or anything, but I’d like to see Glatzel played in his more natural forward position rather than running around like a headless chicken in midfield !. From the little bit I’ve seen of Chris Merrie at Wigan last season he’d start along side Spearing for me.
I’ll be disappointed if we don’t nick this one.

We are going to need to play alot better than we have done for the last two games to get anything against Bradford, where our energy levels seemed alot lower than in recent games. Whether it was Saturdays long trip or a bit of early disharmony in the squad, it needs to be weeded out or any hope of having a good season with this young group of players won't happen.

It looks like we're going for mainly a young team this season, which will be a big ask to push for the top seven, another top half finish may be a more realistic push for this group of players.

Jackett needs to start Conor Wood, the last two games he's been dropped because of an apparent falling out and started two young left backs who's confidence has been hit a bit now - One of these players is more of a centre half who can play left back in Shadrach Ogie. I was told Wood was made avaliable for transfer and has only been in the squad because we literally don't have anyone else.

Our forward line for me is too limited, Aaron Drinan has had a good start to be fair to him but he is still a bit raw, Harry Smith has his uses but won't get more than ten goals, Ruel Sotiriou looks like he will be moved on quickly as he is unable to stay fit or find any good form and Tyrese Omotoye is only 18 and still learning. Paul Smyth is a good player but looks like he will be one of those players thats always injured.

Bradford have more experience than us and have that goalscorer that most of us are lacking in Andy Cook, not suprising to see Lee Angol injured already, the exact same thing happened to us in both his seasons here. He looks useful, gets injured and then comes back and doesn't have the same impact and looked disinterested, which the first time round was extremely annoying because we badly missed him.

Be interesting to see if Del Boy plays the same way he did with Morecambe. Sit back and press well when needed and play on the break. Although if our display on Tuesday is anything to go by, press us high up and you will force us into needless errors.

I haven’t seen this sit back approach yet from him, most of our games have been like basket ball games with 30 shots a game which at this level are mostly off target. I remember his Plymouth side beating us having 1 shot on target in league 1 though when they were bottom, maybe it’s his go to if he’s on a bad run. Don’t worry about your left back with Vernam in the form he’s in on our left we will most likely target the right hand side mostly as we did against Mansfield, just hope he isn’t another former teammate of his…

Bit of a problem for Mansfield this Saturday, George Maris went off due to a poor challenge against Bradford and is in doubt, you could argue he’s our most important player, sits in front of our defence and plays a big role in protecting them while being our main creative output, his replacement on Saturday Stirk tested positive for Covid, maybe we will stick Quinn in that position and bring Lapslie in on the left, it may even bring a opportunity for Harry Charsley.

Personally be quite a bit less confident if Maris is not starting, hopefully no more Covid cases in the squad either.

Bit of a blow for us with Leon Legge now confirmed to be out at least a couple of months after picking up an injury at Stevenage. He has been an absolute rock otherwise this season. Assuming we are going with the 3 CB’s tomorrow it’s a big opportunity for Aaron Martin who to be fair did well when he came on.

You did see our score against Exeter no? and since then we've lost our only 'goalscorer' from last season
