I think Bobby has earned the right to keep the shirt. His partnership with Richards is exceptional and he shows his passion every appearance.

Strikes me more as an impact player, especially away from home.

He seems to find his form more on home soil.

Clarke Oduor is never considered and yet his stats are better than Bobby’s. No one ever seems to mention that.

Which stats are they? Bobby has 6 goal involvements, tied top of our midfield with Patto so I don't know why they would bother mentioning Oduor. Plus people like to judge using their eyes and everyone can see what a donkey Oduor is, already cost us 3 points at Walsall missing an absolute sitter when level, although he did just about squeeze one in against Barrow, so just the -2 deficit.

Sorry, Bobby. It would appear you took that quite personal.

I have no opinion either way on whose better - I’m simply making an observation.

My TransferMarket isn’t working for me to check, but there isn’t much in it between them since last season. One player gets raving reviews and the other is frowned upon.

Eh? Why have I taken it personal because I'm questioning stats that you seem to have made up as now you can't check them? While we are at it, this club have announced we have sold over 500 tickets for the tie tonight, whereas you have said over 1000, it looks like Dianne Abbott has some serious competition for figures.

Since you are sturggling I'll help you though:

Bobby Pointon:

Appearances: 22
Minutes: 1242
Goals: 3
Assists: 2

A goal every 414 minutes

Clark Oduor:

Appearances: 18
Minutes: 879
Goals: 1
Assists: 0

A goal every 879 minutes.

A disclaimer, these stats are league only, this season. It wasn't an observation, though, was it? You clearly stated that Oduor's stats were "better".

Last season, the stats aren't quite as thorough but Pointon scored 4 and assisted 3 from 24 games. Oduor scored 3 and assisted 3 from 32 games.

Glad to be of service.

Bobby Pointon: 61 apps - 8 goals - 6 assists

Clarke Oduor: 63 apps - 6 goals - 6 assists

On reflection, Bobby’s stats are farrrrrrrrr better than Oduor’s, aren’t they?

The club announced 500 sold Saturday evening - that’s two days ago fella. Mate of mine last night said we’d now sold 800. With POTD, I didn’t think 1,000+ was out of reach.

Anything else you need clarifying, “Wilsden”?

Ah great, including the EFL trophy to try save face. You were the one declaring that Oduor's stats were better than Pointon's, they aren't you made it up 'fella' always happy to help. Bobby's are far better in the league where it actually counts.

Why not include the EFL Trophy? Would you omit the FA/League Cup while you’re at it?

Bet you kiss your Bobby Pointon poster “where it counts” before bed, anorl.

You're a strange fella.

Yes, why not include friendlies while we are at it, both mainly play kids and stiffs.

Ermm, well, gosh, I dunno? Perhaps because they’re not competitive fixtures.

Conclusion: Both of them have crap stats.

Agreed!

One is bound for L1 and the other, the NL.

One is home grown and the other isn’t. Any guessing as to which player our Twitter lot spunk over?

I don’t think either are bad stats tbh for young midfielders, I bet neither have started over 50% of them appearances either. Bet there’s plenty far worse at this level, just pointing out to Firthy that his claim was wrong and he got all sensitive about it. I do think Oduor is crap though, but not so much from his stats but overall play which is harder to show through numbers.

No argument, I simply asked soc to confirm he thinks Pointon is crap.
I was only joking around mate, didn't even take note of who was being discussed. Pointon has played well against us a couple of times now though, looks a decent player from what I've seen.

Vernam and Thompson both back and scoring for the ressies midweek in a fairly strong lineup alongside other first team squad members in Tharme, Carson, Ainley, Barrington, Pyke and Warren. Can't seen Vernam or Thompson getting a start on Saturday but great to see them back and featuring. Hopefully we'll have them available and on the bench this weekend. We'll more than likely lineup something like...

Wright
Warren--Rodgers--McJannet--Hume
McEachran
Luker--Green--Khouri--JDS
Rose

Probably the only ones not nailed on there are JDS or Luker as Barrington may take one of those slots and Warren if Cass is fit. Davies may play too but I doubt it.

How are Chesterfield looking? Still got loads out?

I'm assuming you've got the max allocation and have sold it out?

Yea shit loads mate, but some are slowly on the mend I think. Dunkley looks like neck surgery so you'd imagine that's the season for him which is a real shame. Big Pimple or whatever his name is our only real striker, but he looked an energetic and eager handful last night. We do miss Grigg and or Madden a hell of a lot though.
It looks like Markanday is no longer with us which is a huge huge miss, very sad about that. Berry also wasn't in the squad last night, which was blamed on a tight hammy but I think the jury is out on that, it'll be interesting to see if he's included. The good news is that Donacien even from his brief appearance you can just tell is very very good. Possibly not ready to start as that was his first minutes on a football pitch in like a year or something but I wouldn't be sitting on him too long. I suspect we'll be something like this.

Thompson

Sheckleford Naylor Grimes Araujo

Banks

Mandeville Dobra Hobson Colclough

Pepple

Possibly McFadzean for Naylor or Grimes if he comes in and is ready to play.

Gillingham away in a 12:30 KO, we’ve only ever beaten them twice at their place and having removed Bonner they will be an unknown. In respect to ourselves we have 3 new players, not sure if one or all will start and this will have an impact on the subs, at a guess I’ll go for:
TSL
Sterry, Olowu, McGrath, Maxwell
Bailey, Crew
Molyneaux, Sbarra, Street
Sharp
Subs: Lawlor, Anderson, Ennis, Clifton, Ironside, Gibson, Hurst

Morecambe away on Saturday. We tend to do well there so I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. Hopefully what ever knock Holicek got vs Swindon he can shake off as I'd like to see us persist with the Sanders, Powell, Holicek in there for a prolonged period.

Morecambe 1-2 Crewe (Dackers, Bogle, Lankester) 3,800 (850 Crewe)
