Have they stopped taking bets on our game then? We should win, but we know its never that simple. Put Tranmere behind us and play like we did against Colchester and it will be three points closer to promotion.

Thoughts on this one against Rovers, I think yesterday faith was well and truly restored following Friday's game at Barrow, where they wanted it more. We'll come out fighting for sure. And although we need to avoid conceding first, we need to start the game with a good tempo and real purpose, and keep that up. Easy!

Would have gone to this but away. Bradford is a decent day out and not far to go. plus if we do the unthinkable and get a point like yesterday, Meltdown from the small number of their fans who "We should be pissing this league, we were in the Premiership"

Small number being ‘zero’.

A win on Saturday, and Salford beating Oldham would see us safe - that's got to be motivation enough to get something from this game.

Just another game, one of which we have a very good chance of winning. Yippeeee.

The fact that we’re ex-premier league should be enough to see us bag three points.

Whilst we are on a good run results wise, I’m wary about Saturdays game at Barrow. They also had a great bank holiday weekend and our record at Holker Street is poor.

Is Devon Lad OK? He’s not posted since his somewhat bizarre postings about literacy the other night…
Nothing that a decent Exeter result won't magically cure I expect, though anyone passing that amount of shit could probably do with a medical opinion.

you can afford to lose 1 game as you have a game in hand - it might as well be Saturday as you're not playing a rival.

The Gas can't be worse than they were at our place. I understand they are transformed these days, whereas we have gone off the boil other than the odd 45 minutes here and there.

That said, now that promotion is more-or-less guaranteed we might relax and rediscover the form we showed in the first two thirds of the season.

Yeah we are miles better these days (although I dont think we were terrible at your place) but with Collins going off the boil of late, we fail to create and convert a lot in the final third.
We are always likely to lose a random game too like we did at Carlisle and Oldham so fully expect us to lose one of the remaining 3.

That's my hope as well though the problem seemed as much getting found out and stopped as our own ability to flap and crumble. Might play with swagger and the Gas ot just set up to stop us though, which would be nice. Also expect it will be shithousery central.

We dont set up just to stop teams, especially at home. Its usually the other way around and takes a moment of brilliance from Evans or Anderson to win the game by the odd goal.

I think you'll beat Forest Green. They've had a couple of easy wins to paper over some patchy form. Particularly at home. If you get 5 wins in a row at the end of the season then you deserve to go up automatically. It could be, as you say, somewhere else where you drop points unexpectedly.

Closest we have to a derby in this division against Walsall and the DC element has a very different dynamic than what it was between us and Bristol Rovers. They did a job on us last time out but we were without our two best strikers for most of the game (Proctor came on but then had a hernia injury in that same game) and no doubt with how visibly angry DC was after that game our players will be eager to prove a point to them. Away end been sold out for a while and there will be some like me with tickets for the home ends so will just have to keep my trap shut during the game.

Seems in terms of Walsall things are not quite right at that club off the field but they have a good manager in Flynn. Whether their owner lets him be successful there is another matter. Seems Rodney hasn't exactly set the world on fire since going there, something has been off with him all season and Wilkinson I believe has an ACL injury. Famous last words but I think we take out a of frustration on them on Saturday and get back on track.

I hope so. Could be any of the 3 that we drop points though. A injury to either of our CBs and we would be struggling.
it's not very good for the heart though winning games by the odd goal. It was a relief when that 3rd went in at yours, usually we are clinging on til the final whistle.

Yeah, that was supposed to be a "not" but my typing's crap, was meaning you doing your own thing probably suits us better.

Oh yeah that makes sense.
Its difficult to predict this one, depends if your wing backs are on form and Matt is always a handful.
We dont lose many at home these days but like Vale, one would be due.
I'm hoping for a comfortable win like that conference play off 2nd leg, but expecting it to be far from comfortable.

Always enjoyable to poop on someone’s parade, so hopefully we’ll shart on Northampton like we did with Swindon. Or lose so they’ll fuck off. Either way. Don’t really care. Will be too busy trying the wrangle my daughter to actually watch the game.

That was an abject performance by us that day, and I suspect we learned plenty from it, eventually... We simply were not ready that season, it was that game that taught us that. I don't think we'll lapse again. Mansfield haven't been the same since we beat them. Some times you just reach a point where you need a mental breather, you just don't know when that will be. I fancy we still have a decent performance or two to come yet. Cadden found his touch again on Monday, and Matt will be eager for a repeat, following his deft touch to sink our second. More concerned that Wilson has not hit the heights of earlier in the season on the other flank. I'd swap March and Wilson's playing positions, and see if Wilson is better as a forward, he's got very quick feet and is the top dribbler in the league, slurp! It's no use feeling tired now, these players are largely all under contract, they will need to get used to giving everything and a bit more if we do go up. However at this precise point you probably need the three points more than us. That might be the deciding factor all else being even.

Harrogate have been conceding a lot of goals recently and their season has kind of fizzled out. It’s a dead rubber but with Harrogate’s form I can’t see anything other than a Carlisle United win.

Harrogate 0-2 Carlisle United
