We are managerless and caretaker managerless for his due to Covid so big Frank Sinclair takes the reigns! All be under instruction from Pugh who I assume will be on ifollow from home!

The first IFollow tactical change?

We somehow lost the reverse fixture in a game we really should of won but some defensive calamity and failure to take our own chances to add to the 3 so would be nice to avenge this.

They’ve not won since and we are starting to pick up results again so hopefully we can have a good week here.

Hopefully Worrall is back, we know Monty will be isolating and Legge returns from suspension still and the big return could be James Gibbons, arguably one of the best right backs at this level we have missed him massively in the past three months. He is back in full training and could make this, changing Mills for Gibbons will be a huge upgrade for our leaky back line!

Guthrie may start this after a promising cameo which started to see the ball stick at the right end last weekend and Devante Dave may go out wide...

Walsall don’t win much but don’t lose often so probably a 1-1 here but hopefully get a positive result. Despite our defensive nightmare second half at their place we did carve them open multiple times ourselves... replay Zak Mills miss for years in injury time!

The last (hopefully) matchday that we'll be sitting out.

Come our game at Newport on Tuesday, we'll have 4 games in hand on Cambridge, 2 games in hand on Newport, Cheltenham and Morecambe; 3 games in hand on FGR, Salford and Orient; a game in hand on Crawley and even a game in hand on Exeter.

We gave Grimsby their only win in the past two months or whatever, because obviously we did. Think we all know Paul Hurst is going to get his first win here, it's written in the stars. I can't help but have completely apathy to these derby games right now, it just doesn't feel like it matters at all even though it should be a huge game.

We need to win on Saturday to kick start our season again. Stevenage won’t be easy opposition and I bet the game will be decided by the odd goal.

Southend played like Cheltenham against Cambridge, which doesn’t bode well for Mansfield, we struggle to deal with long throws and set-pieces, at least they will not have the same quality in the line-up in comparison to Cheltenham.

Away to top of the league having not played this year with six new players that have never played together? Seems only one winner, on paper we’re stronger since we last played and still unbeaten under the ‘caretakers’, given the big mid season break and number of new faces it may take a game or two to start gelling.

Our whole squad is poor, Scunny appear to be in a similar boat. I will except a defeat if their players are better than us, but I will not except our players not playing with passion and fight, lose to better quality players, but we shouldn't be second best in attitude or endeavour.

0-0 most likely.

Fancy us to take a point at Cambridge. Cannot see more than 2 of the 6 players likely to start, so not much gelling required.

0-0? You're insane if you think we're keeping a clean sheet. We've also only drawn 2 games all season, mostly because we have scored one equalising goal all season long which is mental. If you go 1-0 up it's game over you've won.

I think it shows the plight of our clubs when this is the fourth derby in about 13 months and none of the games have had the same two managers involved.

We’re not playing blinding stuff like we were earlier in the season but we seem to be pretty effective and good at grinding out results when not playing well. Hoolahan and I think Hannant should be back for Saturday which should make our attacking play a bit better.

I don’t know if not having played is a good thing or not. At least you’ll be well rested whereas we’ve played four league games and an egg cup game already this year. I’m pleased we’re getting our games on mind as we shouldn’t have a fixture pile up later in the season whereas other clubs might.

I’m hopeful Bradford will come at us a bit and therefore it should be a) a decent game and b) a game which might suit us better. We’ve got to be targeting a win frankly.

We have tightened up at the back considerably since sacking McCall in December. We have only conceded 2 goals in the 5 games since, including of course, a clean sheet beating you at Valley Parade just before Christmas.

The interim management duo of Trueman and Sellars, who have stepped up from the academy, immediately ditched the very open 3-5-2 formation favoured by McCall, and lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Whether the new signings this month will see us changing formation remains to be seen, personally, I would stick with the 4-2-3-1. Either way, I think we will keep in tight and not approach the game in a cavalier fashion which was the stubborn undoing of McCall.

Our fourth home game in a row. Hopefully FGV will be as profligate as Salford and Morecambe before them, as that’s the only way we can beat the better sides.

Scunthorpe fans said exactly the same about our match with them last Saturday - and we got the goal with the best (only decent) attacking move of the match. We were not great - but they were never ever going to score an equaliser. Scunthorpe do have one really dangerous player - Jem Karacan who had 2 decent shots and a header just wide. I know that i've only seen him play once - but if Grimsby keep him quiet they've got a chance of at least not losing. If Grimsby leave him in space just outside the box there's every chance he'll pick up 2nd balls and shoot - and he'll probably hit the target....

Yep, enjoy playing against Ryan Loft again you won't struggle one bit to stop him.
It's shaping up like a boring 1-0 either way. Could see Hanson playing and nicking a goal perhaps, that's probably our only hope. Or a pen for either side.

How much worse does it feeling knowing you beat us to signing him?

We’ve failed to land a forward so far this window and it looks unlikely we’ll have one in before this one. It worries me that Hurst doesn’t even appear to be close with one.

I’m properly worried about this one.

I'm more worried about Stevenage and Barrow to be honest. Scunny seem as bad or maybe even worse than us, so I think they'll be down in the bottom three or four with us for a while. Agree with Don that I have no enthusiasm whatsoever for this one though, it'd feel massive in a normal season but watching us on iFollow just feels like we're going through the motions.

I said we’d be without a paddle if we didn’t win 2 games out of the 4 and sign forward players before the 4 games.

1 draw and just 2 defenders signed, not the best of starts.

You got lucky that we're even more incompetent with our scouting than you are, we've had some bad strikers in our time but he's up there.

It'll end 1-0 Grimsby, we've lost 1-0 8 times this season. I feel like I say it every week and i'm right every week, if you score the opening goal you've won the game. It's written in the stars that Hurst's first win back comes against us and the chairman he fell out with.

You've had your fill of good strikers over recent years, you're currently paying back a debt to the footballing gods. While we have turned round or got a point from a couple of matches we've conceded first in, we generally concede first early and lose. Think we've let the first goal in 13 times out of 24 so far with 8 of them being in the first 20 minutes.

IF you win all 3 you'd stay up - but lose all 3 games (Scunny, Barrow and Stevenage) and you'll start looking up where Weymouth and Wealdstone are....
