Morecambe away. 7 draws between us in our last 12 games…I wonder. 1-1.

Looks a tough one. Wimbledon another team who regularly get top side of us . Having lost our last two home games we need a win or the always latent doubts about Maynard will rear up.
Think we need to start with two strikers, the one up top at home isn't working.
Draw.

We’ve never beaten Harrogate in the league. That needs to change next week.

It’s simply must win. No “taking the positives” from a narrow defeat or a 0-0 draw, the next two home games are must win. I don’t care how we do it, we have to. Otherwise we’re 100% done and won’t recover. Big couple of weeks ahead in terms of the future of this club.

There shouldn’t be any surprises - Wimbledon are another decent side who will set up exactly like Gillingham and Vale did with men behind the ball.

I’d also go with two up top and Didzy coming in. We won’t need four midfielders to control the game. They seem a lot stronger at home than away so we should be looking to win, but we need to avoid spurning a load of chances if we have lots of pressure early on again, and we definitely need to avoid going 1-0 down out of the blue.

Jatta and McGoldrick have been on the pitch together for an hour this season and we’ve scored five, conceded none. It must be done. Deploy the big men.

Salford have some good players and it's hard to have a lot of confidence in us going forward given we're still down several attackers, but there is no reason why we can't be targeting a win in this one.

I totally get why you think that given this season so far and last but i'm sure in January you will throw whatever money is needed at it to get out of trouble. Even if you are adrift by that point I still fully expect you to stay up but as said I understand your feelings about it too.

Bromley found them unplayable and Maynard may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb and properly go for the win.

If they're adrift at Christmas throwing money at it probably won't be enough. Very difficult to go from relegation from to play-off form instantly.
I've seen us do it and stay up but also seen us change managers and players to no real effect and go down.
Still think Carlisle will stay up but must admit for the first seventy minutes against us they were really bad, totally passive.

I'm sure you'll be fine, its just been a run of bad luck. One of those victories was by an own goal in a match where we had no shots on target.

We couldn't beat Crewe kids last week. I had to work so wasn't at the match on Saturday but those who were said Town were awful and only won because the Newport defence stayed in Wales.

Two in form teams. I'd be amazed if we continued this run. We've yet to put on a sparkling display at home but I don't see it coming against a Fleetwood side who I think will be right up there at the end of the season.

Our squad is well set up for away matches where we can play on the break but we will definitely miss Byers who has that craft and ability to make things happen at home.

As the home team, I'm guessing we'll be a bit more on the front foot, so that should make for a good game.

It seems to be tough game after tough game at the moment, so to come through to where we are is really pleasing.

We're in top spot but I would say that there hasn't been a performance that has absolutely blown me away yet. I think the manager feels the same. Yesterday, we were a bit of composure away from winning by 3 or 4. When it all comes off one week it should be fun!

A win would be unbelievable but this run has got to end sometime.

So we’ve not beat Newport away since 1969, and in that time we’ve been down there 7 times, including our last visit in 2017 which ended in a 4-1 defeat and Frank Nouble hattrick…

Well records are there to be broken I guess

I’ve got less faith in us at home than away simply because I’ve yet to see Dazball be that effective at VP but truth be told “the run has to end” is as meaningless as “Manager of the month curse” or “we never win in the navy away kit” which I kept seeing before the MK game. Each game is its own different challenge.

Fleetwood are a good team and in hindsight maybe were a little unlucky to be relegated compared to a couple of clubs I can think of who stayed up but if we have hopes of maybe challenging the top 7 it’s a game we need to stand up and be counted in.

Yeah not sure why the negativity there, we fully deserve to be where we are, we’ve deserved the points we have and the games we’ve won, you could say we were lucky to get a point at Accrington but then unlucky to drop two against Colchester otherwise each game has pretty much had the right out come good or bad for us.

The positive for us is despite 8 unbeaten and being top we’ve probably got another gear or two we can go yet, we’ve put in some decent halves but not a full performance for 90 yet really.

The demands are high which is pleasing, I thought we did ok first half yesterday but turns out Moore was furious and laid into them at half time.

Each game is tough, Fleetwood will be as tough as County or MK, all the games are tough. Fleetwood have gone under the radar a bit and picked up good results. We’ve settled away from home and that system has worked perfectly and are the best away team in the division currently, the key now is getting the consistency and find the best methods at home. Chesterfield and Swindon we played very well but the other three not as fluid so it’s finding the solutions to hit the levels at Vale Park.

Brings top is great, cracking achievement as well considering the key players missing and the tough fixtures we’ve had on paper but the hard bit now is sustaining our position in the top 3.

There are no free passes in league two, look at Accrington and Morecambe yesterday and each game is different in its challenges so take it one game at a time and see where we can end up.

You're massive favourites to win this one so all the pressure is on you lot and not on little bottom of the league underdogs Carlisle who seem to have never not lost a match before.

Haven’t Gillingham lost three on a trot now? Still only two points off vale at the top.

That top spot will be changing hands a lot this season I think.

Colchester away - I'm not sure I even care anymore, and I've got to host a podcast on it this week!

We entertain Gillingham at VP this weekend. Our home form is strong, but historically, we tend to draw with Gills ( a lot ).

Fancy us to win 3-1.

A win will likely put us in the auto positions - could be worse, seeing as though we have 8 players out injured.

I can't remember the last time we were favourites to do anything but crash out of the league. The bookies don't agree with you.

At most we aspire to mid table mediocrity. We are a poor little club, so I would say all the pressure is on you, one of the tables rich boys currently under preforming.

Another team in the top 6 to contend with in Walsall and another side who absolutely battered us last season. Win this and we start a kind looking run until Xmas in terrific shape.

We’ve somehow got even more injuries to contend with now, just as it felt like things were easing up a bit. I reckon it might be our first draw of the season, which I’d be fairly chuffed with.

Good god, this is grim stuff at the moment. Every time we play Harrogate, we say 'law of averages, we have to beat them eventually'. But this time... this time I just can't see it. How have we got it so wrong? All this dollar, all this stuff going on off the pitch... and yet so far away on it....
