If I were playing Notts at home right now, I wouldn't be happy with a point.
If you'd been playing like we have recently (before Saturday), you'd accept a point against a top six side. One swallow doesn't make a summer (though it does make a good first date)

Well our game at Sutton has just become harder. They’ve just sacked whichever Mitchell brother was their manager.

Imagine it’ll be back to basics and looking to get a reaction to last weekend’s humiliation. We’ve been good away from home so I was hoping for 3 points here as I can’t see us winning both our home games between Christmas/NYD.
Can’t see you having any problems. We just don’t have a fit enough defenders, nor good enough midfielders, to keep good sides at bay at the moment. A managerial team of Guardiola and Klopp won’t be able to change that for Saturday. We won’t have anyone other than old regime in place for Sat, or worse Jimmy Dack.

Jimmy's with you is he.

I presume you don't think much of his managerial abilities?

Your swallow was a lot prettier than our swallow in terms of recent results and perfomances.

Oh and you're clear at the top, and at home :bg:
It's ok, it's what everyone seems to do on this site to bizarre levels.

He’s head (I think) of our academy. Turned down the main job previously a good 15 years back and think he turned down Newport too. Seems to have not fancied being in charge and not a great track record when he did.

He was very popular as a player, always thought he got away with being bang average due to being a ‘character’. Never struck me as someone with a decent footballing brain. But maybe I do him great disservice, guess he did enough as interim to be offered roles. But he’s been a long time away from managerial roles, can’t be that keen to do them.

We’ve announced that Goodliffe will stay to look after Saturday’s game.

The goals they conceded saturday looked like the regular fare that featured in the conference, such as the lack of quality.

Given that beating and the new manager bounce this has a sutton win written all over it though.

That said we all thought that before harrogate who were the other bogey side and we went and won 4-1 there, though it’s hard to imagine how anyone of any quality could lose there this season.

Cue an unadvertised bet by Adam on a Sutton home win at nearly 4/1, which when it doesn't happen and the visiting side comfortably triumph will conveniently not get a mention.

Standard behaviour.

Working well for your club no doubt but not your wallet.

The established approach on the forum is talk down chances , however absurd it sounds, pre game. Then show off post game when your team wins as expected.

That’s the issue though, you don’t see mansfield fans doing that really, so depends on who you follow, not sure what clubs fans have that approach.

Been around long enough to know with mansfield there’s always a potential clusterfuck round the corner.

Yeah, think you’ve had a bit of a mishap on that one, can’t agree. Can’t see how any mansfield regular fans on here are like that at all, we’d be doing our best to keep under the radar if barrow weren’t doing a better job.

The only time i’d imagine we’d make something of a win is if we’ve been goaded previously.

Jason Goodliffe will get a good reception on Boxing Day. My favourite ever AFC Wimbledon player.

Grab a mirror chap, it appears to pretty much be your raison d'etre. So manye samples to choose from this season alone.

You definitely can't see :ffs::lol:

I can’t see something not there, as ever cheers for the laugh - you’re a star.

I mean if someone’s going to go making such bizarre comments i’d always encourage them to back it up - ( though as you must surely know) mansfield fans don’t “big” it up when we win, i appreciate it’s an art you boys seem to be forgetting.

I always like the trip to Grimsby, the Cleethorpes ground always feels like a proper park. If my memory is correct, last year we had no shots on target in the first half and only one after half time. The result was 0:0 with Grimsby camped in our penalty area for the last 30 minutes but unable to find a way through. It was a lucky point for us and Grimsby must have felt hard done by.

If we play like we did last week against Notts County and in the second half against Wrexham we have nothing to fear, but we are Harrogate Town so we'll probably lose 3 nil and have a player sent off in the 97th minute for a stupid fit of temper.
Yeah, you got four points off us last season despite us arguably being the better side in both matches. Expecting another battle here, but I'm hoping you come and try and play a bit as that should suit us. Get up in our faces like Newport did and you'll have a chance. A lot of Town fans expecting to cruise to a home win here but I'm not expecting an easy ride, I don't know a massive amount about your squad this season but the players I do know (Muldoon, Armstrong, the two Dalys, Thompson, O'Connor) always seem to have decent games against us. Perhaps with the exception of Levi Sutton who once came off the bench for Scunny against us and got sent off immediately, although I do seem to recall him also once bagging a winner against us for Bradford having said that.

Do they errrrr perhaps play down their chances regardless of the teams respective form, league position , bookies odds you know the important things prior to games against opposition where you are strong favourites time and time again? They can't all be bogey sides right?

If only there was example on this very thread from North Notts :ohy:. I'm not going to a Fishy and spend time looking back and multi quoting  but off the top of my head Harrogate, Accrington.. no need to look back I'm sure there will be plenty more to come in the future.

But no, no Mansfield fan does that. :ffs::lol:

Barrow at home is probably not the ideal fixture when we have a bumper home crowd. Probably between 6-7000 home fans expected, but we've still got injuries plus our captain suspended and playing against the form team in the league. Sort of day you hope we could put on a show and tempt some of the non regular fans back, but I fear Barrow could be too strong at the moment.

Crewe 1-2 Barrow (Nevitt, Telford, Ray) 6940 (500 Barrow)

I can only see another defeat as we just can’t defend. I only hope we aren’t as gutless as we were against Morecambe

Hopefully the Notts players can come down with the shits like last time we played them to give us a bit of help in winning this Friday otherwise it's probably going to be a dull as a dishwater football game as we both try to win the 'how many side passes across the back three' competition.

I think we're genuinely unbeatable on that metric.

That game was really funny. Rawlinson (I think) throwing up on the touchline was particularly gruesome. Is crazy Jayden getting much game time? He had some night, should've had us 2-0 up, missed two open goals from right back.

He's not had much game time despite our injuries. Not sure he's started a league game which is not a glowing review considering our injuries. He's not looked the standard tbh, very much made up the numbers so far.

Not surprised, always looked a weird signing. Was baffled he got that move to Aberdeen in the first place, I wouldn't have wanted him back in the NL.

Sounds like we've got Cameron and McGoldrick back for tomorrow night, so things are looking up a little bit injury wise. A hard no from Williams when asked if we'd be looking to focus on defending after you won 8-0 as well, although that's not exactly surprising.

God knows who we've got available, massive pressure on Williams tomorrow. He's got to start delivering more with the squad he has at his disposal.

Every point we get in these four games over Christmas will be celebrated like we've won the Champions League. It's backs to the wall stuff.

We need to keep in the top 3 come January for top top players to be convinced we're only going in 1 direction, and no hanging around if the owners want us going up again. I feel with the massive loss of Evans in front of the back 3 can cause us issues, when we have midfield backups in Davies and Young. They can do a job but we can get massive upgrades on them.

Maybe bring TOC into midfield and bring in another defender for Saturday (possibly Boyle or Cleworth).

Sounds like Barnett and Fletcher are not far off a return, which is encouraging. Also the prospect of Billy Waters being available for selection in January.... which should secure promotion (That last bit may not be true).

He barely looks like a footballer, probably one of the worst we've brought in since the takeover. I think it was all but certain he was being shipped back to Aberdeen in January but now MSH is out with a broken foot he might get a stay of execution unless we want to try find better.

Beleaguered Stockport now resorting to having to play full backs they've poached from top tier sides competing in Europe. It really is unfathomable how they're still top of the league.
