Credit to Notts, no team has us sat in like that home or away. Some lovely passages of play. Crowley and Bostock excellent footballers.

I do agree they didn't create a whole lot though and I also think with our best players available we could have seriously harmed them. They were naive at times but we didn't have the final ball.

We didn't sit in then. We should have. We may have got something if we had swallowed our pride and done so at 2-1 up.

Tonight (last night) we sat back purposely after getting the goal. Something we rarely do.

Rovers v old nemesis Swindon. Flynn has a fairly decent record at Prenton Park with previous clubs, but we’ve won our recent fixtures against them. Last weekends loss mustn’t be followed by another, hopefully Adkins got some resilience into the team. Turnbull back from suspension should bolster the defence, waiting for other team news. No idea how this will pan out.

Fair point (and i was rather pissed when i posted mine)

Yeah don’t go playing open attacking football against us, not a wise move

Good win though, another step closer for you guys.

Excellent setup and defending by Stockport.
Well worked corner routine for the first.
Definite penalty.
Notts performance was very good, and light-years away from the disappointing Walsall and inept Harrogate showings.
Against lesser side and not so stingy defence we would have created more and probably won.
The difference in the sides defences are stark and worrying.
Can see why Stockport are top but thought we deserved a point. Not many will go to the EP and look so controlled and comfortable.

Oh a Notts matches and BTTS bet still remains a profitable non brainer all season long. Basically we are the Brighton of L2#BTTS

Another goal for Alan Hamadi, some player at this level. Will be massive for AFCW if they can keep hold of him through the next window.

You did it against us at 2-0 up and would have only got a point had you not conned the ref into giving you a dodgy freekick. Might not have done it with the style and grace of Notts but you were pinned back for large parts of that second half. Absolutely mullered us to fuck in the first though like.

How will you get promoted if James Chester leaves you for us at the end of the month?

He’s already said he can’t be bothered travelling to the arse-end of the country (Cumbria) every day for training. He’s happy with the Manchester Bluebirds.

I don't remember it being like that tbh. You got a quickfire undeserved double before and after half time after we'd dominated you. It was then even, even if you shaded it I really don't think we were purposely giving up possession. What I'm describing yesterday against Notts was a team that completely sat in and purposely played a deep defence. We never normally do that.

I think he'd be an upgrade on Nemane for us. Local lad who'd probably want to come as well.
I’d march on Meadow Lane if we brought back Richardson, he was terrible. Nemane’s been so-so this year but proven himself to be a far better player overall (although I wouldn’t say no to a more defensively sound player in that position)

An update from our chairman last week said that we're not planning to sell any players in the January transfer window. If a club came along and offered stupid money we'd have to think about it. We'll have to get another striker anyway as Ali's off to the Asia Cup next month and will be missing for a few matches.

My biggest worry is Stockport's injury list. Joe Lewis and Connor Lemonheigh-Evans are on loan from there and they've both been excellent for us. I really hope that they're not recalled.

Barrow 100% deserved to win. Did a very professional job against what they were up against, and that's all they can do. Just a shame it couldn't have been a stronger Crewe team with a few midfield players.
as i put in my comment at the end of the match the bench played a big part.Barrow subbed off their 2 players on yellow cards part way through the 2nd half and brought on 2 experienced players. Crewe had 3 bookings (i think it was 3) at that time and only had kids to bring on, so had 3 players on the pitch who were tiring, on yellows and couldn't go in for a 50-50 without fear of getting a red.

I don’t even remember a challenge on McGoldrick that could have been a penalty. Neither teams’ Twitter account mentions it either.

Ultimately we created the better chances and I’ll take that over lots of possession any day.

Twitter has spoken, end of discussion

The draw probably the fairest result as neither side created much, a goal from a corner , a penalty and an injury time goal. We should have created much more from controlling the game so much but out of form, no Palmer and up against a very well organised good defence.

On the flip side we concede at least two to everyone and with Stockport at home I expected our keeper to be tested far more.

Bad result for Notts, very good performance by Notts and good for my season long bet.

Don't forget they can offer him an extra £17k a week though that'll make the travelling worthwhile.

Carlisle's new budget makes Wrexham's look like Wealdstone's.

I don't remember you really getting out your own half in the second half really until you scored the winner which knocked the wind out of our sails, hence me saying you sat deep. Perhaps it wasn't intentional, Challinor does have previous of battening down the hatches against us in recent seasons though. The stats (admittedly they're never conclusive) kind of back up that we were the better side after the interval, as they're relatively equal despite you battering us for the whole of the first half. xG is weighted towards Stockport but that's what two pens will do to that.

Yeah DC set the side up to sit off and absorb pressure, stop them from getting clear-cut chances. It's not pretty to watch but we didn't have the personnel to win a midfield pressing contest, and there are things clinging to rocks in the south Atlantic that know Notts don't have a plan B for teams that don't come at them

We‘ll get absolutely battered today. We have 1 fit CB - a 19 year old with a handful of appearances. We’re shit enough defensIvey with all 3 CBs playing.

It can’t go on like this. We’re not even competitive in League fucking 2.

Newport manager's comments about the ref working a treat so far. He is awful and is constantly in the way.

The weather is awful and is ruining the game, we haven't had a shot on target yet shooting into the wind.

Somehow 1 up at half time. We were dreadful before Kemp scored from an almost impossible angle. Got a bit better after we scored. Makeshift defence not doing too bad.

Problem is that we concede 70% of our goals in the 2nd half so I’m not counting my turkeys yet.

Our best goal effort was the overhit back-pass to your keeper which nearly crept in. We have looked toothless with a number of players below par. The Swindon goal was against the run of play, but a good finish. Since then you’ve grown in confidence. Erratic refereeing hasn’t helped us. Surprised no Rovers changes at H/t

2-0 up at sutton, but as i correctly stated earlier in the week it’s been a tough game and they’ve came at us a bit more 2nd half. Hopefully that goal puts it to bed.

Wrexham also winning - the top 4 have pulled away somewhat.

We managed to scramble 2 goals in from the long throw. Big win as that was a tough slog in that wind, we played on it more than they did when they had it with them.

Second half was all us and it could have been 4 or 5. Lee ran the show, he is ridiculous.

2-0 win against Sutton which was about right, did not create loads but controlled most of the game on a poor pitch.

Still not in the top three somehow but got up to three games in hand over some now.

Only 2 games in hand on some, tellingly 8 points clear of 8th with 2 games in hand with a better goal difference.
