Seeing Sutton is pretty much the last thing on my Football ‘bucket list’ (short of Wales winning the World Cup!) so I’m excited about the prospect should we manage to pull off an upset on Tuesday at Wigan
I get where you’re coming from, though as it’s your first appearance for so long it would obviously be a big occasion. Do you think it could potentially derail the League campaign?
We’ve had five Wembley appearances since 2012 and four have ended in defeat! Not too keen on the place. Agree about Wales!

Think Crawley need to be an honourary relegated team solely because they haven't beaten us this season

Will most likely be the only team to have not done that this season
Did it last season with Grimsby, did it with Notts County and got a sneaking suspicion we did it with Macclesfield and Bury. If we ever get in a dog fight down the bottom we've had it!

Just a quick question. What's this Wembly thing? I keep on seeing people referring to it and saying it's a great day out and how they've always dreamed of getting back there. Is it something like Xanadu...a stately pleasure dome?

Only going by the commentary, so Cobblers fans might be able to say whether the Hemmings disallowed goal at 2-0 was rightly ruled out? The commentators weren't impressed by Mr Martin the referee who usually looks like a slug on steroids.

I thought it should have been a goal. Horsfall misread it IMO and went down with a tiny bit of contact because he knew it was his only option left.

Sad that one of our own players would like a post mike this when we’ve just lost 5 on the trot, no doubt the Carlisle fan will be shocked why we boo the little c*** when he rocks up there next season. Watt is another deadbeat I can’t wait to see the back of. McKirdy was class today tbf their best player by miles so he can have his moment, supporting Chelsea when you’re from Stoke though, not sure I’d broadcast that…

A potential Wembley final could be a potential distraction, but our mindset and philosophy for the last couple of seasons has been one game at a time, and not to get ahead of ourselves. The way we played today certainly seemed to suggest that.

I think based on the general play over ninety minutes we deserved to take something from the game today, but we did not due to our inability to deal with Northampton's set plays. Their first and second goals were both direct from corners and were defended terribly, albeit they were good routines.

We did not offer much going forward in the first half, but in fairness neither did Northampton really. In the final thirty minutes we played some really good stuff, but had given ourselves too much of a mountain to climb. However, Hemmings' disallowed goal should have stood.

It is alarming that our ability to keep a clean sheet has deserted us, but one positive was the return of Paul Glatzel. I thought he was class in the second half.

Casey JaredSUFC it took us 42 years as a league club to get to a Wembley Final, them down the road six years later and Lincoln only recently.

Your time will come

Wouldn’t mind a Trophy/Vase final for us next year

Tranmere HAVE to beat mansfield next friday, they’re fucked otherwise

Hoping you return the favour we did you earlier in the season to end your awful run of results and not turn up.

Bizarre Keith Hill esq starting 11 from Melon today, and in his post match comments he kept referring to how certain players let the team down at Newport, rather than today’s inept shortcomings.
As good as Northampton are at set pieces, those first 2 goals were like bread and butter to our defence a short while back. The wheels are well and truly falling off now.

From Stoke but calling Bradford a shithole? Interesting

That’s all fans sing to each other these days, bizarre considering most places have plenty of shitholes. Couldn’t think of a less offensive chant as thankfully I live nowhere near the centre of Bradford.

FWIW I hate some of the nonsense he posts, what does he have to gain from posting that negative crap about Bradford, just to gain a load of likes from teenage Swindon fans. To be fair he was excellent today and has been most of the season. I guess this kind of stuff is his 'kryptonite' but I doesn't sit well with me.

QPR fans sang a different version recently that was quite amusing I thought when they were at home to someone (I don't know who)

You've got to go home
You've got to go home
We get to live here,
You've got to go home.

Not sure if that was the exact words but I think you get the gist.

Everyone just copies each other now. We’ve got our own songs that we’ve ditched for Everywhere we go and that Belinda Carlisle shite.

Still not as embarrassing as our friends up the road. We come from Grimsby who the fuck are you. What’s that about :woot:

Tbf he’s one of those players you hate against you, but love when he does well and he’s on your side. If he played for us today it’d have been a different result, not that he’d dare play for us of course.

Tbf, that’s not the first time he’s posted something like that. Think it was !Mansfield getting the ‘shithole’ comment then. As for his Abramovich comment - he can fuck right off.

Aye had to shake my head when John Terry did a similar social media post regarding Abramovich. Thick as whale spunk the two of them.

Our one week off being in the drop zone was good while it lasted.

Back to the usual predictable turgid shite from these losers.

The likes of carver can call me negative all they want, but this is definitely one of the two worst teams in the football league and today it is showing. We absolutely deserve all we get.

Hey glass chin, that was posted at half time, based on the first half. It was turgid shite. If you think differently then you can’t have been at the same game as me. We were lucky not to be 2 or 3 down at half time. Are you seriously going to attempt to argue against that?

And I stand by my statement that this is one of the 2 worst squads in the league. Now obviously we’ve now got a good manager for this level who has shown so far that he can get the team to grind out results against superior football teams (see Tuesday v Rochdale as a prime example). Hopefully come may we’ll be higher up the league than we should be in terms of squad quality and that will be solely down to Simmo, not because these players are suddenly good enough for this level. Regardless of the outcome, they need turfed out in the summer.

Superb win yesterday despite not being at our best for long periods. Listening to BBC Leeds on the way back it was apparent that this had been Bradford's best performance for many months which put our win into even greater perspective. I've always believed that player for player we had the best squad in the league when all fit. Our problem is that H is now suspended for 2 games and we have a number of injuries that are likley to last for several weeks as opposed to 1 or 2 games. Tuesday against Exeter is massive and I would snatch your hand off now for a draw as our run in is relatively favourable. Having said that I believe that every side that has beaten us this season at the County Ground has lost to us at their own ground. We would be in dreamland if that happened on Tuesday

Need to echo the other City fans take on yesterday in not just moaning about how we lost but seeing the bigger picture. Results for us at this stage are meaningless to the extent that we’re not going up and we’re not going down. The progressive green shoots of yesterday after only a week of Hughes coming in meant more than a draw or even a win, the football was much more positive, the crowd responded and the Derek Adams cloud is quickly lifting hopefully to set us up ready to really make a good go of it next season.

Not being condescending, but I thought you were excellent. You’re missing that one ingredient we’re all after - a regular goal scorer.

You should be in for some fun next season!

I'm with you. They absolutely roasted us first 20 minutes and had a spell in the second where they hit the bar twice. They certainly looked like a side looking to impress the new manager. Just as well we have a decent keeper or we could have crumbled in the first 20 minutes as we were so sluggish.

I don’t think a City fan would disagree with you on that, we’ve been wasteful all season but when your second best striker is Lavary who had one goal then it’s easy to see our issues.

We also only have one CB at the club since getting rid of Canavan and have to play Songo’o there for the rest of the season.

I hope Sparky demands the Earth in the summer as this club has lacked serious investment for years and our teams get worse and worse.

At least the team looked well coached yesterday for the first time since October and that was after just one week, hopefully if we bring in some decent players next season we have more reasons to be hopeful.

Don't think we've beaten Mansfield at home for a while. Lose this one and I'd agree with AdamStag, but a draw might stop the rot.

I agree with BITDHSS. There were so many below par players against Newport, that it's wrong to single any individuals out. The pivotal goal at Northampton was the second and Doohan seemed all at sea for that, maybe time to take him out of the firing line for a bit? Unsure that any of yesterday's changes made a significant improvement, though the return to fitness of Glatzel is a plus, hopefully he'll be fit enough to play the full game Friday.
