Letting Saint John of Sheridan go to be replaced by that c*** Joey Barton, I wish you nothing but pain.

Previously, slightly likeable, Fleetwood Town FC now fall in to the abomination of club category.

What a shit choice.

Sheridan gone from another club after a few months then I see, still seems rather harsh.

Barton will almost certainly get off to a good start, they’ll be top by the end of Setember then go on a dreadful run and they’ll probably come to a ‘mutual’ decision for him to leave by January.

Perhaps Sheridan didn't want to sign a new deal? Maybe he is going somewhere else

He’ll do well I reckon. Good decision getting rid of Sheridan. Probably saw Oldham this season and realised he’s not the man for a long term deal.

Why will he do well? He has zero experience and he’s an utter c*nt

Very bizare move and john sheridan seems hard done by. They were looking like relegation until john sheridan come in to save them and did just that. They are now replaced by someone who has no experience of league 1 as a coach or player

Looks a horrible appointment on paper. I think he'll be far too divisive to be an effective manager. Players will get pissed off with him very quickly.

He also has no coaching experience so will command no respect. Ridiculous that he's been parachuted into an L1 manager's job based entirely on self promotion.

Wow. They get a manager who gets them back on track and sack him. And replace him with someone with no coaching experience, no experience of the league and a very abrasive character likely to rub the tea lady up the wrong way, let alone the players. Think this will end in tears for the cod army, but what do the fans think?

I have no insider knowledge, so this is only what I have heard and summised.

John Sheridan was appointed following Rosler's departure UNTIL the end of the season, his task was to keep the Cods in the division, and has done this to great effect. The Cods have a 'directer of football' who along with the Chairman and the coach decide on players incoming and outgoing. The important part is that the person is classed as the coach and not the manager. John may or may not have been offered a longer term position but it would have been on this basis, a role that he may of felt did not suit his style.

Joey Barton is a good friend of the Chairman, other than that I don't know of any other rationale for his appointment. Like others have stated Joey, as a footballer, seemed to operate on a razors edge between brilliance and lunacy, it will be certainly interesting to see how this translates to team management.

Fairly certain that there will not have been many Cods fans who saw this coming and it is not a 'sit on the fence' appointment for them, it will be either love it or hate it. For me I have an open mind, but leaning to it ending in tears sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile every other club in the world looking for a fresh manager breathe a mighty breath of fresh air and says a silent prayer of gratitude that it's not going to be happening to them!

Thanks Fleetwood!

Many moons ago I made a promise to myself that if ever Steve Evans was appointed the Cods Manager I would hang up my supporters boots.

You have to admit that this WILL be a talking point next season and may attract more advertising revenue for the club from sponsers such as Basher al Assad, kim jon Un, et tel.

I can tell you right now that this will not end well.

i always think these moves all depend on the quality of the assistant brought in, he'll need a good, solid experienced no.2 who isn't an ex manager, someone he can trust but probably also an assistant the players can turn to because Barton doesn't look that type of person.

Think the Fleetwood chairman is friends with quite a few Scouse tossers, to be fair Sheridan has proven himself as a good fire fighter but only really managed a promotion with Chesterfield. Don't really blame Fleetwood for looking for a different man but Barton is one hell of a gamble, I don't think he'll see October.

Deluded on the pitch to think he was the best English midfielder and will no doubt think he is the best manager in the country. Interested to see how he deals with the fans getting on his back when results don't go his way.
