The way our club is run our budget will only get bigger every year, we are now a profitable club with every penny going back into the club and playing budget. We already have a decent squad with the likes of Smith, Moult, Jennings etc. but Wilkin didn't know how to use them, We now have a decent manager who should be able to use them well and I'd imagine attract a few more good lads to the club

Without getting into it again, you're not profiting, it was discussed and shown to you previously.

Mills is a very very good appointment and probably won't piss away a decent budget quite as spectacularly as Wilkin did.

That's not quite true, is it?

It won't get bigger every year, though.

They'll be a time when you have a shitter on the pitch and it'll reduce in the summer. No idea whether your attendances are what were budgeted but you've had the cup run that's boosted it a bit as well.

Please provide proof of this because according to your accounts you are making a loss.

Your abbreviated accounts for the year ending June 2014 had the following statement:

"There is a loss made during the year. The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis on the grounds that the club will continue to be financially supported by the Wrexham supporters trust and will become profitable in future years."

and your WST AGM presentations showed a loss of 130k in 13/14.

As I am newly registered I am not able to post links yet but we will be posting our first profit this year. More details can be found by googling "Wrexham AFC AGM".

This was all before the FA Trophy final too and our average crowd was above budget so we are looking good off the pitch.

Now we have paid off our debts and are profit making I think it is likely we will be increasing the budget next year and giving it a real go. Our commercial department has come on in leaps and bounds too. We are all set up to do well now and I guess that is one of the things that persuaded Gary Mills to make the move. I hope it works out!

Lost the dressing room and compromised his footballing philosophy at Gateshead. Jury's out on this one, for me. Let's see how he sets his team up. I can't see him passing his way out of this division again, which means he'll have to do what he failed to do at Gateshead and get Wrexham mixing it up effectively.

Indeed, we all saw the earth shattering article about your new hashtag!

Any reason? I mean, Gateshead were one game away from getting out of this division only 12 months ago. Has something fundamentally changed in the conference over the last year that I don't know about?

You want to get promoted so you can avoid Wrexhams charming "supporters". Oh I can`t wait to return to the Racecourse for another happy family day out or maybe so long in the Conference has dulled their love of 1970`s type thuggery. Somehow I doubt it

I was liking the tinpot hashtag article, not the jury being out on Mills! :2thumb:

It can't be any worse than the last two seasons, as long as we're challenging for the play-offs, with some pretty football to boot. Out of the managers available he's probably up there in terms of best choice.

Go on G Mills, he'll get you popping the ball around, it'll be good to watch. Definitely keeping my eyes on the promotion odds when they come out.

I bet it's really boring and frustrating when it doesn't quite work.

Not really, hopefully he's not as stubborn as he was with us in the league, refused to change formation or style, leading to his sacking.

He still is, we only started one game under Mills that wasn't 4-3-3. But, there's nothing wrong with 4-3-3 under Mills as long as you have the right players, we did last season with Marwood and Maddison, but we didn't this season and ultimately that's why we ended up nowhere near.

It's rarely boring because even when we used to lose you still came away enjoying watching football played on the ground. Ok he has his teams overplaying it at times when a more incisive pass is better than 20 played sideways, but boring ? no.

Fair enough.

FWIW, I've seen a Mills York side and Gateshead side and the former certainly had more intent in their passing. The latter didn't have that, just passed it from CB to CB.
