Seen that sort of thing from him before - so classy.

Hummels – significantly too handsome and well-spoken to play on Merseyside, but his knack for calamitous own goals could directly replace Skrtel's.

Auba – no response necessary, we all know it's as likely as Bilo selling Lucas on an FM save.

Gundogan — I actually think he will leave BVB next summer (just a hunch), but it won't be to a Europa League side. Finish in the CL spots and it's a small possibility. Just hope Arsene doesn't see him as the Santi replacement or United gets a manager capable of a decent transfer window.

Mkhitaryan is a player Liverpool could desperately use, but he'll be tough to pry away after this season.

Why would any of those players take a step down to a smaller club anyway?

EDIT: Just seen that Muller, Martinez, Boateng and Alonso have all signed at Bayern until 2021 (Alonso until 2017).

Has Pep officially confirmed? I've seen strong speculation but no 100% confirmation from either individual or the club?

If so, who next for Bayern?

Bayern will announce it over the weekend. Ancelotti is strong favourite to take over.

Time for Guardiola to leave imo, he is awful.

- youth development? no.
- making the players better? maybe more clumsy
- Champions League win? he came not even close

the two german championships would i have also won with this team

I respectfully disagree with you, MC.

I think they'll come the closest to winning the CL this season, if not winning the thing.

I'd be very surprised if Bayern don't win the CL this season.

I also think Bayern has good chances at Champions League this season with Guardiola and Ancelotti for next season sounds great for them too.

I agree. I think they have the deepest squad in Europe. Last year the lack of dynamic wing play ultimately cost them. Costa - Lewa - Müller isn't quite Neymar, Suarez, and Messi, but it's nearly impossible to keep them from scoring. Barca don't have the defensive quality.

Depends if he fancies staying in Germany or not. He's got so much potential.

Would Schalke be able to reject (the rumoured) 55m euros though?

I'd rather he went to Munich than Citeh anyway, so I hope you're right.

Sané is in sight of a good amount of clubs from what it's being noticed. It will be hard to Schalke to keep him looking at some of the mentioned offers. Anyway wherever Sané goes (or staying) I just expect to be a wisely taken decision because the guy has a lot potential and it'd be a pity if it was wasted because of a bad choice.

So German football is back next week after an extended break - do the teams cope pretty well with it?

Got me thinking Sky would go mad if they had no Premier league football to show for weeks!

can remember regular winter breaks of nearly 3 months length ( early december until late february) until the late 90th. the introdution of undersoil heatings and the climate change made it possible to reduce it to only 4

First game of Bundesliga return and Xabi Alonso just emphasized his bad phase with a weak performance and own goal but Pep still insists on him.

I thought the Borussias confront would be tougher since it was composed by the vice leader and an adversary that showed a meaningful recover during the competition. But Dortmund played very organizated and could not only get the favorable result but to convince with a good performance, also they mastered a counterattack class.

I don't imagine there are many places quite like it. It is mental.

*even more so when you're used to lower level football.
