If you could go back in time and convince a previous player from your own club to come back with you to the present day....
who would you think would be the missing piece of the jigsaw that would guarantee promotion??
a midfield dynamo or a hotshot centre forward??
Right now...I would love another Ricky Hill in an attacking midfield role to make the difference

Paul Carden so we can make him our assistant manager and then send him on loan to play against us again.

Louis-George Mongin, the greatest Cambridge player to never play a minute for us, we'd have been in the Champions League by now if those non-league thugs at Stevenage hadn't crippled him in pre-season about 15 years ago.

Michael Bridges, Ian Harte or Kieren Westwood, each of those would currently fill a much-needed position.

Scratch that, Kev Gray.

Either Darran Rowbotham circa 1990 who was on the verge of a move to Chelsea before rupturing his achilles, or Sean Devine just because I love him to this day.

Jean Louis Valois.

We've had better players probably but I just loved watching that enigmatic French bastard, the type of lower league foreign import that everyone just loves to watch.

I'll never forget that first game where he just pinged one into the top corner from 30 yards and acting like it was no big deal. Honestly took the piss how good he was compared to players he was up against at times.

With B B B Corr off, how could it not be the perfect time for Dion? I've never seen him play at the Abbey but I'm sure all I've heard is not just hype. He's like a local pre-homage to Bingham isn't he?

Steve Flack, just so I could prove to others that he was a useless player despite him scoring a lot of goals.

I would bring back Alex Lawless. We need a player who can play on the left side of midfield and put in a cross or two, he fits the bill perfectly, one of the best players I have seen play for Rovers.

If we're going to lose Alex Woodyard, Lee Frecklington would be the perfect replacement. Same goes for Gareth McAuley if Sean Raggett leaves.

If we are talking with a bit of realism.. Then Morsy. He was the world's biggest crutch with what he could do in the midfield. Looked championship standard in good sides, and seemed to up in when he was around utter crap.

However, for nostalgia, the idea of prime Lester and O'Grady up front is filth.

Johnny Hayward who scored 548 goals for us in 15 years and is the all-time top goalscorer of any of the 92 league clubs.

He'd probably help.

You guys are idiots, it doesn't specify from your own club. I would go back and get one of the peak Brazilian Ronaldos, either 97 or 02 or Paolo Maldini. Haha, Ainsworth and Barker? You fools.

Since I've been going circa 2003...

Charlie Austin. Not my favourite player because he once ignored me in a Swindon nightclub but the best natural finisher I've seen.

Would get 30 plus in this league easy.

You slimy little...I didn't even highlight the typo either. The time editted is damning evidence though. Should have take a screenshot and got you slapped with thread making embargo and suspended for the opening 5 rounds of your own prediction game.

I'll have a look at it over the weekend and get involved mate. Do I need to read the whole thread (that is basically what has been putting me off!), or can I just get away with reading the rules?

Center is just American English so not a typo SOC. Got you :woo:

Re. Oakey's question, I'll probably go for some of our 70's players like Tom Finney, Alan Biley or Steve Spriggs, just to see what the fuss was all about.
